It might have already been posted, but does anybody know any details about what happened to Ryan Mundy? Jean-Giles took a couple cheap shots and was classless. It looked like it wasn't serious, but I was excited to see Mundy play

When they asked Tomlin about it after the game he just said, "Shin". Other than that he said they don't know anything yet.

From what I saw tonite...Travis Williams was the better safety...

In all fairness I think Mundy was in there about 2 plays before he got hurt. That isn't much of a sample to say what he is or isn't yet. Williams was pretty good though, he looked good in training camp when I was there too. The other guy that looks good and is also a safety is Roy Lewis #30, Tomlin mentioned him specifically after the game as having a very nice game.

Williams and Lewis are cornerbacks according to the official site.

I believe Mundy makes the squad. Too bad about the cheap shot though. He kept everything in front of him and made solid tackles.

Absolutely. I thought Mundy did pretty good while he was in there. Hopefully the injury won't keep him down long and he can get back out there quickly. At this point I don't care what safety steps up I just want TC off the team.

The Tribune is now saying it might be more serious than reported earlier:

Ryan Mundy has had several MRIs taken on his lower left leg and the rookie free safety said he may find out later today if he suffered a serious injury in the Steelers' preseason opener Friday night.
Mundy, a Woodland Hills graduate, left the Steelers' 16-10 win over the Eagles early in the second quarter with what coach Mike Tomlin later called a minor shin injury.
Mundy, however, is wearing a plastic boot on his left foot and said his lower left leg "is pretty sore right now."

i thought i saw quite a few cheap shots from the iggles, a couple of piling on at the end of tackles, leg trip.

The way his ankle turned, it looked like a high ankle sprain or a broken lower leg (fibula) like FWP injury last year.

Its a high ankle sprain and he will m iss the next couple of games per Tomlin.

Well that is good news. I still would take a 1 legged Mundy over a 2 legged TC.

No shit. I thought they were going to start calling that a penalty when the linemen 'clean' the pile. I thought it was a point of emphasis year. The eagles where doing it big time all night, the only reason to do it as late as they were, is to hurt someone.
