A thought occurred to me last night, could John Lynch be our next DB coach?
From all accounts he has a great deal of respect for Tomlin and the two got along really well. He's also a huge student of the game and I suspect would be a fantastic coach. I definitely expect to see Tomlin bring in more guys he's familiar with over time and Lynch would be an interesting prospect.
Anyway, just a thought...

Maybe bring him in as an assistant to Horton, but not to replace him just yet anyway.

He went to Oakland last year. I don't know if he's still there or not.

Coach? If Troy sits much longer, Lynch could be out next safety.

You never know. I doubt that Lynch would try out coaching until at least 4-5 years from now, now that he is finished.

I would think Lynch made too much money over the course of his career to be interested in putting in the insane hours that NFL coaches work.

John Lynch is the godfather to KC Chiefs Coach Herm Edwards's son. Maybe it could become a bidding war for John's services?

I think he goes on TV before he goes into coaching.

He knows nothing of the 3-4, at least he doesnt have any experience playing in it.
Would seem like a really odd fit unless we became a 4-3 team.
And our personell remains very 3-4 oriented.
