...or should we. I know we never put our recent picks on the field till the following year, but I would like to see them more, ...or at all.
Is Woodley still hurt? If not get him and Timmons in the game. Im not saying replace our starters, but keeping people fresh isnt bad idea. Get one of them down on the line and replace Kirschke(sp?)....he is a bum

Woodley played like two plays yesterday.

I saw Woodley once and on that play he dropped into coverage. I hope he and Timmons get some playing time. It would be nice to see what the future holds.

Woodley had like 3 sacks in about 15 plays early on in the season, but in one of Tomlins press conferences he said the play of Haggans was keeping Woodley off the field.

I would say only if we are completely eliminated from playoff contention, then yes, play them more. But, that's going to be hard to justify with two games left and still in the thick of things.
Keep in mind, we were 7-5 in the SB season and looked hopeless. Look where we went from there.

Over the last 4 games the play of Haggans should not be a reason to keep ME off the field. I could just curl up in a fetal position and be more disruptive.

We were 7-5 because we lost our QB for 4 games with injury, and he wasn't 100% when he came back, we also lost our LT for a few games that year who was playing at a pro bowl level. We don't have those kind of players to look forward to getting back.

It seems as if all other teams out there, even the contenders, have at least one rookie starter. We have none and almost never do. Why? Is our coaching and training that bad or do we just never let them play?

If Tomlin thinks Haggan's play is keeping Woodley off the field maybe the Steelers have lousy optical insurance.

Sometime I wonder what the hell the coaches are thinking. I know they are all expert football Gods and we are but mortals BUT some things are that fucking obvious.
Woodley needs to split time with Haggans. I dont care why Haggans is not getting pressure. It could be wear from a real full season, injury, I dont give a shit. If you tail off then your backup goes in. Its not that complicated.

We're not 7-5 right now either.

You saying Tomlin is just as stubborn as Cowher?
All's I know the Jags picked up every stunt and blitz we ran - just like teams did last year. Lebeau better shake the dust off and get some new schemes out there on D....and letting Woodley play more can't hurt.

I don't know about the Cowher comparison. I do know that our defense has looked like shit for a couple weeks at least. Whatever Lebeau is doing either teams have figured it out and he can't make in game adjustments, or our players are just not good enough. There is zero reason why Woodley shouldn't play more if he is healthy. The kid made plays before he got hurt. He hasn't unlearned the damn scheme we're running in the meantime. I just don't get it.
I'm down with seeing a little more from Stephenson or whomever backs up Mahan...
Surely can't be any worse than what we've seen.

At some point in every game you have to have one of your guys beat one of their guys, and that's not happening.

That's why I used either/or. Right now I'm leaning toward the players being the issue more than anything. That being the case, the kids like Woodley need to play more. It isn't like the guys ahead of them are doing any better when it counts on game day.

Yep, it's beyond me why he didn't get to play more yesterday.

Especially on that drive that took 9+ minutes off the clock...
Every set of legs on the defensive side of the field were tired as fuck.

I'm with you. He can't do worse. What Haggans on a number of long runs, and most especially the long TD throw. He beats his guy to the inside, finally looks up and sees Gerrard outside him. PAUSES FOR A MOMENT, and then starts toward him. I think the fast track in St. Louis is great time give Woodley some serious time.

From his chat transcript Bouchette expects Woodley to start Thursday.

Woodley played 3-4 plays yesterday. His first play, he absolutely destroyed the RG, pushing him right back into Garrard and nearly got a sack. He dropped into coverage on his second play. I didn't single him out on any others. There is no reason though that he shouldn't see significant action, especially on third down. He makes plays everytime that he is out there.
