Did anyone see Rossum's punt return touchdown in preseason week 2? Where was that when he returned for us?

The replay is at http://www.nfl.com/videos?categoryId=teams under 49ers ---> Allen Rossum.

Kinda sucks I sat through the advertisement only to realize you linked me to the Kurt Warner gets the nod decision. Should edit your post and link the right video.

anyway, to reply to your post. We blame our returners for not getting yards when it's really the blocking that sucks. We need to do a better job of blocking on KO and PR in order to get yards.

Didn't Rossum have a TD return early in the season last year before he started to struggle?

Yeah sorry about that. It's fixed now, although not a direct link.

And yes, I suppose that's true. I have to say though, that spin move was something.

Against the 'Niners, @ Heinz field, Week 2, 1st Half after a SF field goal. Ben had fumbled and the defense held them to 3. On the ensuing kickoff, nobody touched Rossum. Anyone remember Troy's hit on Vernon Davis that game? Good Lord that was badass!!!

Rossum had a return for a TD against the 49ers--thus the reason they signed him in the offseason.

Also, as Andymisiu stated, I think a big portion of the problem isn't the returner, but the blocking. Watch the blocking of teams like the Bears, Browns, etc. It's worlds better. They have good returns regardless of who's returning the punts.

Don't forget the Bills. They've had three different guys run one back this preseason.

And to think alot of people used to bitch about El returning the ball, he was pretty damn good compared to what we've been watching.

Yeah, the main problem is not the returner but the supporting cast.

It's easy to do in the pre-season. Let's see what he does when it counts. His return against the 49ers was sweet. A friend of mine is a Niner fan and I enjoyed rubbing it in to him!
