STREAKING STEELERS: The Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday recorded their sixth consecutive win on Kickoff Weekend, becoming the first team since the Miami Dolphins from 1992-02 (11 in a row) to win six season openers in a row. This week, the Steelers travel to Cleveland for an AFC North matchup with the Browns and seek to extend another streak.
The Steelers have won nine consecutive games against Cleveland, tying them with three other clubs in such a streak. With a win, they would hold first place in the category.
The longest current win streaks against an opponent:
TEAMS CONSECUTIVE WINS
BUFFALO vs. Cincinnati 9
NEW ENGLAND vs. Buffalo 9
PITTSBURGH vs. Cleveland 9
SAN DIEGO vs. Oakland 9

Wow. Has it been that long. I can remember there was a while there under Cowher where we never won an opening day game.
As for the Browns streak, it is going to keep on growing!

I would love to see the Browns streak extended for the rest of Ben's career.

It seems like the Jags have a (fill in date they started in the league) long streak against us.

Cleveland has as much chance of winning this game as I do of seeing a skinny girl get out of a car with Ohio plates at the Fire Mountain buffet in Chippewa.

Ben could have another primetime performance like he did last year against the Ravens if the Steelers choose to attack this weak secondary.

and when was this?
1993 Pittsburgh 13 SF 24
1994 Pittsburgh 9 Dallas 26
1996 Pittsburgh 9 Jax 24
1997 Pittsburgh 7 Dallas 37
2000 Pittsburgh 0 Baltisore 16
2001 Pittsburgh 3 Jax 21
2002 Pittsburgh 14 NE 30
Except for 1995 that was a pretty long streak.
Bill Cowher's Steelers opening day streak really didn't start until the 2003 season.

Ben's rookie year. He drove to the winning field goal then Leftwich drove them to a missed FG right after with only seconds left, if I remember correctly.
Since then - 05 the Maddox meltdown in OT
06 - Ben's first game after the appendectomy
07 - The "damn I sure do miss Aaron Smith" medley of home defeats.
Can't wait to get back at them, the Chargers, the Pats, and many others this year!!!
