The Falcons kicker leads the NFL in touchbacks with 19. Jeff Reed has......one. 1. Uno. We're also dead-last in the NFL in kick-off yardage with 60.

Agree. It's time to see how well Sepulveda can kick off.

You guys don't understand. Our kickoffs aren't designed to go to the endzone.

division rivals wouldn't have a chance against us if we took the kick return game away from them....not fair!

Get it all out. We only have half-a-dozen gms or so to b!tch about Reed.
Next season we'll have a guy that may be able to boot it into the EZ, but will most likely not be as consistent on FGs as Reed.

Remember, the not-so-automatic guys that we suffered thru between NormJohnson and JeffReed??

I'll bet ya that Falcon's kicker can't keep up with ole Skippy in a chug-a-lug contest.

That might be true....but I would rather miss 3 points rather than give up 7.

Heinz Field is not an easy place to kick, and Reed has shown that he can kick well there consistently.

I would rather keep Reed around and find a kickoff specialist, who can take Stephan Logan's spot on the roster.

I was just thinking this earlier in the week. Great idea.

so that would mean..............sepulveda punts, reed handles fg's and then we have a guy just to kickoff?
why not a super kicker that can do it all, punt, fg's and kickoffs! seems like a great way to do business:rolleyes:

If a kickoff goes into the end zone, about 8 times out of 10 the returner is going to take a knee and the ball comes out to the 20 anyway. Of course even that would be an improvement given the kickoff coverage this season.
I'd prefer that the kickoff lands somewhere between the goal line and the 15, but that doesn't happen either.

Don't you think if Sepulveda was any good at kickoffs he'd already be doing it?

you know, last year Jeff Reed was just as bad at kicking off, and yet our special teams coverage was so good it really didn't matter. the coverage this year is horrendous and yet the problem is Jeff Reed? the most accurate kicker we've had in years? and why does he get the blaim all of a sudden? because he missed two field goals (a rarity in his career) in the chicago game? and then people want to clump the 50+ yard attempt that he missed the next game in witht he chicago game... you all nitpick over his effort to make some tackles on returners that should never even get to him. infact, most kickers in the league simply try to get out of the way and trip the guy for a penalty and yet Reed is crucified for missing a tackle.

yes he has a problem with alcohol, but this latest incident is something completely different. he was with his parents at the time, Im pretty sure they would have stepped in and said something to him had he just been acting unruly. from what I've heard, he stepped in to help a buddy of his and things got out of hand, he didn't go up to a random cop and start shit with him. Im going to be SO happy when Reed gets his contract extension next year, I'll give up a few yards on kick off's (as long as we fix the coverage), for the consistency he brings in the fg department.

I think we should use a third round pick on a kicker next year so folks here have something to bitch about. :)

i'm with insaniti, Reed's fine. i think most people here are embarrassed as fans (with due reason) by his pirouette, i mean, attempt at tackling the returner(s), and so they deem him unworthy of a roster spot, despite being pretty much money for us for quite awhile now.

I think he's mostly crucified for not even attempting to tackle. If he tried and missed no one would have said a word.

Other than that I agree with your post completely
