Nah, I don't even care about people eating crow. I just want them to win in the worst way.

This is like the 90's to me when Cowher "couldn't win the AFC Championship"

I just want Tress and company to get over the hump.

To others I say hate all you want, OSU ain't going anywhere. May not be this year, may not be next, but we keep getting top notch talent and it's only a matter of time. Then it'll be like the red sox, going from can't win game x to will someone beat these guys.

Saying it is about region is only partially correct. USC is also one of a handful of teams that truly recruit nationally.

It also helps that Texas, Florida, California, and Ohio are the top 4 talent producing states.

Most of the kids on SC's roster are Californians, but many of the top players are not.

Brian Cushing, New Jersey
Everson Griffen, Arizona
Vidal Hazleton, Virgina (Nations #1 WR a few years ago, despite not performing that highly)
Ronald Johnson, Michigan (one of the most interesting recruiting stories you'll never hear)
Taylor Mays, Washington
Joe McKnight, Louisiana
Mitch Mustain, Arkansas
Patick Turner, Tennessee
Damian Williams, Arkansas

Its more than region. USC is the in school. Snoop walks the sidelines, Will Ferrell is there, many of the kids go to the NFL. Some how Sneaky Pete gets 5* recruits 4 or 5 deep at positions on the depth chart. It is currently the in school. It hasn't always been, and it won't always will be.

1990: 8-4
1991: 3-8
1992: 6-5
1993: 8-5
1994: 8-3-1
1995: 9-2
1996: 6-6
1997: 6-5
1998: 8-5
1999: 6-6
2000: 5-7
2001: 6-6

Really quite mediocre for one of college football's storied programs. And if the regional argument applied UCLA, Arizona, Arizona St. Washington, Oregon or another Western team would have stepped up and become a major power, but did not.

Sure, 4 players threw passes, but Norwood is a WR by trade. He had one, ONE pass attempt, and it was incomplete. look, I understand that when the game is out of reach, JoePa goes deep into the roster, but don't exaggerate. I'm glad they won, but it was only Syracuse. It's like the Steelers beating the bengals.

And if the regional argument applied UCLA, Arizona, Arizona St. Washington, Oregon or another Western team would have stepped up and become a major power, but did not.

Oregon has done that, IMO

I was really applying it to the south. Sarge or tape or someone recently posted that all the top notch athletes go to the south and/or west rather than play in the cold and snow up north. Which is largely true. That tidbit has a lot to do with why the upper echelon Big Ten schools can't compete regularly with the cream of the crop in the SEC and PAC 10 The speed difference between USC/Fla/LSU and Ohio St. is not only noticeable, it's devastating. It's not entirely their fault, but it makes it no less accurate.

I was referring to someone stepping up in the 1990's.

California didn't stop producing top talent, there just wasn't a top team in the entire region.

Well, pardon me all to hell. They were my thoughts on the game.

Had to add smilies before I got kicked in the butt. :) :) :)

No, more like the Texans. Bengals is in-division.

I'm not even sure OSU would have done any better with Beanie in there. Maybe another TD or two but they still would have lost by 10 plus. That is how I figured the game would turn out.

Auburn's offense is going through a serious identity crisis. They're trying to run the spread offense but the problem is they have 2 QB's neither of which are very good. Chris Todd is a better passer but not athletic enough to run the spread, Cody Burns is athletic but can't hit the broad side of Phillip Fulmer if he tried. Their RB's have 5 fumbles in the last two games to boot. Defensively, they're one of the best in the country.

My boys hung with 'Bama about as well as OSU hung with USC. The Toppers only lost by 34, and this is only their second year playing in Division I.

Loved every second of USC mauling Ohio State. The sweater was speechless. He's gotta do a better job of recruiting ineligible players (see Mo Clarett and tainted national title) if he wants to win big games.
