Houston's Reliant Stadium got tore up pretty badly from Ike.
So the game will not be played on Monday.
Why not just move it to Baltimore?
Didnt they move the Saints game to NY after Katrina?

Having the game in Baltimore is out of the question, especially on 48 hrs notice. Plus it would give the Ravens an extra home game and it simply won't happen.

I don't like giving one of our division foes an extra home game. I thought it was really unfair that the Saints lost a home game. When you only play 16 games, the loss of a single home game can really mean a lot to a team.

Is there any talk of playing it at a neutral site or maybe at a college stadium near Houston?

HOUSTON -- Damage caused by Hurricane Ike will likely lead to the postponement of Monday night's NFL game at Reliant Stadium between the visiting Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans.
The storm tore chunks off the stadium's retractable roof and the damage can't be fixed in time to host the game, said Shea Guinn, the president and general manager of Reliant Park.
"There is no way this stadium will host a game on Monday night," Guinn said Saturday. "There are parts of the roof that are completely gone."
An official announcement was expected later Saturday, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said.
"It certainly appears that the stadium is not going to be able to be used on Monday night," Aiello said.
The game, originally scheduled for Sunday, was moved to Monday earlier in the week as Ike approached the area.
The field is not scheduled to host another game until Oct. 5. If the game is postponed, it is unclear when it could be made up. The Texans' off week is Oct. 26, while Baltimore's is Nov. 6.
Three years ago, when the New Orleans Saints were displaced because of Hurricane Katrina, they played four of their scheduled home games at LSU's Tiger Stadium, three in San Antonio and one in East Rutherford, N.J., against the New York Giants.

Considering that they don't share bye weeks, it looks like they'll have to play a game mid-week OR they'll have to push the playoff's back a week to accomodate this game on 'week 18'

Baltimore bye week 10
Cincinnati/Houston bye week 8
Cincinnati @ Houston play week 10
Move Cinc @ Hou to week 8 and play Balt @ Hou week 10. Houston/Baltimore bye would be this week and Cincinnati's would be week 10.

PFT said the superdome could host this game sometime this week.

I imagine the college stadiums near Houston, took a beating, too.

The Philly/Dallas game is still scheduled. So how is MNF postponed? Who cares about the Texans/Ravens game anyway. That should be a real nailbiter. Who cares about the other game also but at least it will be worth watching.

Their baseball stadium, whatever they're calling it now, was reported to be ok.

Agreed.....Ratbird fans are screaming their heads off over this...now they will have to play 15 straight weeks, 6 of 9 on the road, to close the season

I think the Ravens will win the game and it does suck for both teams to have a bye week in week 2. 6 of 9 on the road to end is brutual too, but it helps us out so its all good.

This is shocking news to me.... considering I didn't even know the NFL was dumb enough to put a boring-ass matchup like that on national TV to begin with.

I don't know why they don't move it to Austin or something and play anyway.
