View Full Version : Wind
Just caught some live shots, via NBC's "Football Night In America", of the conditions in Cleveland and it looks as if the weather--namely, the wind--might be a big factor in tonight's game...
Which offense do you think this hurts more?

Both. However, Cleveland relies on the pass more so they are in trouble.

The only thing that could make me worry about tonight would be the weather...and dammit, looks like we're going to be dealing with some shit tonight.
I think the best medicine would be short crossing routes with the wide-outs and dump-offs 5-9 yards downfield to Heath Miller.

Needless to say, our defense needs to be lights-out tonight.

We have three solid RBs, but this is the type of game conditions where you miss a blocking FB. Still, I think they can get the job done and the quick passes we saw last week will also be of great benefit tonight. As far as Cleveland goes, I think our defense is going to hurt them more than the weather will.
While James Harrison MIGHT be neutralized by Joe Thomas tonight, I believe LaMarr Woodley is going to introduce himself to Derek Anderson rudely more than once...
From there, the secondary just needs to be solid. I think Bryant McFadden is going to be fine.
The defensive line shouldn't have too much trouble shutting down Jamal Lewis.

Looks like the worst of the front has moved through. While the wind is blowing, the 60-70mph gusts have really diminished. It looks more like DGen's video now, with just a strong steady 35mph wind (earlier today the news reported steady 47mph winds.)

Im getting your 70mph wind now.
It keeps ripping my fucking screen door open, the neighbors garbage cans went flying across the yard into my car.

I told you that video was mild compared to what we were seeing. This game is going to get nasty weather-wise about midway through the 2nd quarter.
Ben passed for less than 150 yards in a blowout last week.
Rely on the running game and there should be no real issues.

They said on pre-game that it's blowing end to end. Watching the kickers, they were horrible at one end and kicking 65 yarders at the other. Sounds much like the Cinn. game.

The wind never got as bad as it was in Central Ohio. It looked like instead of going straight north to Cleveland, it headed in a much more Eastern Northern direction.

Yea and fucked up this area big time.
Im posting from home, only because I have a generator.
There are 180,000 residents in Columbiana county. 100,000 are without power.
