Just a thought on who you guys thought were the most impressive and least impressive players for both teams...
For the Steelers its a tough choice
Most Impressive: Troy (due to timing of INT)
Honorable Mention: Holmes, Kemo, Ben (playing through seperated shoulder??)
Least Impressive: Simmons
For the Brownies
Most Impressive: Rogers (caused some problems, played a lot of snaps for his size)
Honorable Mention: Winslow and other DT
Least Impressive: Anderson (he had lots of time to throw and didnt do anything and he made a bonehead play at end of half)
Honorable mentions: Edwards (drops and just needs to step up) Crennel (dont know if he counts since he is a coach but horrible time management, bad game management at end, and not putting winslow in at end of game)

Barely saw Timmons any where, wish Mendenhall woulda got more touches, but WP did good at grinding out yards.

Not sure why Mendenhall didn't really play. I thought we would have run it down their throats. We should have scored more on them even in the high wind. That was disappointing.
Troy is back to form. He looked awesome. He was very disruptive. He covered well and he got his 2nd int.

I think Mendenhall didn't play because of the wet ball.
Most impressive: Kemo.

Least Impressive for the Steelers was Melwelde Moore...He couldn't field a damn punt and damn near botched the Kickoff return.
Most impressive for the Browns was their offensive line. Albeit, the Steelers didn't blitz much and only brought pressure with 4 -5 guys.
One other note. That roughing the passer call on Woodley was bullshit, especially after see the hit on Ben that was much later than Woodley's hit, and was never called by the official.

...damn near botched the Kickoff return.
The bad one was Mendenhall on the "return". I was yelling, "run up and catch it," but he wasn't listening. Do these guys even know that kickoffs are live balls? That single play could have set this game up for Cleveland. With Mendenhall's fumbling problems, I don't trust him to return kicks at all, especially in the rain.

Most-
Willie Parker, The guy just continues to improve, how many times in the past on a 4ht&1 would a Steeler back just pound into the line? His vision is improved, his balance is better, and he has added moves. The guy is a made for TV Movie just waiting to happen.
Least-
Mwelede Moore, I thought SuperSteeler made a good point about him staying away from the ball at all cost in swirling winds, but Cribbs had no problem fielding a Punt or Kickoff. In the 1st half alone his refusal to stop the progress of the ball resulted in 40-60 yards of lost field position in a 10-3 game. Where field position is at a premium.
I am torn though, to SS Point, one muffed punt and field position is screwed.

It's a no brainer. A wet field and his fumble issues in a close game? Hells no. Not worth the risk.

I was really impressed with the special teams coverage for 2 weeks straight now. We shut down Andre Davis and now Joshua Cribbs. Of course Holmes, Ben and FWP stepped it up too. I thought Kemo played a very good game as well.
The Brownies OL is really good. Not sure if that was just because of a lot of max protect, but they gave Anderson time to throw.

What he said !!!
And the most impressive has to be ST coverage !
Least impressive,,,probably Kendall Simmons, he continues to get pushed around in pass protection and will not always get clean blocks in' run'.

Guys who stepped it up this game vs the Clowns...
Troy Polamalu - He's back and is playing like it's 2005 too.
Steelers specials teams - The kickoff & punt coverage is light years better than last season. Cribbs couldn't do shit against us.
Willie Parker - Ground out alot of tuff yards last night in a game with bad weather where running comes first and still had 105yds rushing
Chris Kemoeatu - When he pulls it's scary. He's a road grater...I saw him handle Shaun Rogers solo twice with relative ease.
Aaron Smith - Really disrupted the running game for Cleveland and had 2 sacks against one of the better O-lines in football.
Ryan Clark - Good to see Ryan back this season he's one of our most underrated players.
Hines & Santonio - These guys made some great catches last night to keep drives going.
Ben - Still looks great even with a partially seperated shoulder. His throwing keeps getting better & better.

Is anyone shocked by our special teams play? I have to admit that I'm shocked. In a good way.

actually we blitzed several times problem was it was the same old ILB criss cross fire with foote and farrior that has been getting stoned for the last 3 years.

I think Carey Davis get honorable mention here for running over his own return man and nearly giving the ball away DEEP in Steelers territory.

I think we run that blitz mainly as a run blitz?
And if it is a pass, I would think it would be designed to free up the Defensive Linemen to get the sack.

Good one Sarge!
I really don't have much use for this guy.....Maybe when McHugh gets up to snuff.....we will see more of him......one can only hope...

whatever it's designed for does not work circa 2003

Kemoeatu has played some sick o-line. I just love what i've seen so far.
Holmes, Ben, FWP, Troy, the LB corps, A Smith all get props. And hey, nice to see Hartwig hold his ground against Rogers where Mahan would have been blown backwards far enough to knock Ben off his feet.

Signed up specifically to reply to this thread, been a long time lurker though ;)
I was able to watch the Game in full lenth thank's to NASN here in Austria (been up until 5:30 for my Steelers ;)) and I have to say I was most impressed by Harrison #92.
He was by far the calmest player on the D and seemed to be a real anchor for the rest of the players. He didn't get all fired up carried away in certain situations as others did and on top of that just did what he does.
Also, Kemo had a great game and couldn't get enough of Rogers it seemed.
Least Impressive was Nate, but I think of Miller as our #3 WR anyhow...
Also, I expected to see more from Lamarr, I know he is a real strong guy but it seems like he really only is able to bull rush. Get some moves going, boy!

Ryan Clark - Good to see Ryan back this season he's one of our most underrated players..
Our secondary looks pretty damn good with Clark back - he was going full blast all over the field.....great to see - Bryant McFadden looks like a starter to me.

I am really only concerned with getting the win. But......
Hartwig played well, but let rogers through a little too much. He needs to move his feet more, but still did a damn good job against that fat fuck. Thank god mahan was busy keeping coach Z entertained, if he was in, it could have been real ugly.

The O-line played good as a whole....I even saw Simmons pulling and pancake-blocking some LB 5 yds downfield....amazing.
Faneca who? Good riddance. Did you see the Jets get stuffed at the goalline 3 times, running left? Pathetic. Lost the game for them.
That Fox dude looks pretty good on ST too.
most goes to the Oline much improve over last year
least hurts me to say but ward just dropped way tomany passes

Nate is so hot and cold it gives a desert a bad name.
They should move Dallas Baker or Limas Sweed into the #3 role.
The defense did a tremendous job, they absolutely stuffed the run and even when it seemed they were going to cave, they came up with the big play!

Most impressive: Troy---just had an awesome night in coverage
honorable mention: McFadden---made two huge plays NOT including his INT. He broke up the 3rd down pass to Edwards on a slant late in the game and also broke up another pass to Edwards near the goalline earlier.
least impressive: Ward---yeah I know he made some big catches but he also dropped a couple that he should have had, including one on a 3rd down play that ended a promising drive.
For the Browns
Most impressive: Joe Thomas---he had numerous key blocks. The guy is a monster.
least impressive: Braylon Edwards---he is just not making the plays that he made a year ago, especially in traffic.

It will fill my coffers if he comes back and earns a TD catch or two.
Otherwise......start Sweed. Show us on the field what you got.

Most Impressive:
Kemo - He has done a very nice job filling the void left by Faneca.
Troy - Normally I don't consider great players who play to their level, but Troy is back at the elite level we are used to seeing him at and is really making an impact on our defense.
Least Impressive:
Nate Washington - This guy has a chance to be the #3 guy and did not have a catch this past week.
