James Harrison was still steaming after the game about a roughing the quarterback penalty he got in the fourth quarter. Harrison said he didn't take an extra step before hitting Garrard. "Ridiculous call," Harrison said. "You don't make a call like that. Unless (the official) might have money on it."

That should bring a fine from the league. I somewhat agree with him, the call was real bad, but you won, you have to let it go.

That man lets nothing go.......part of what makes him such a great player..

Let it go? We don't get calls like that when Ben gets lambasted...

I say shout it from the mountaintops!!!

Silverback is gonna make it "rain" in the league office over that comment.

I hope they do hit him with a fine. A pissed off Silverback is an even more dangerous Silverback.

Read my sig. That quote was after the playoff game last season. He did not adhere to his own advise, but I don't blame him.

Bogus call. There was no possible time for him to see if Garrard had even gotten rid of the ball. What if it was a pump fake?

You don't make a call like that, especially in the 4th quarter. The NFL needs to crack down on these officials making bogus, potentially game-deciding calls at the end of games. If we can fine the players, why can't we fine the refs?

Yeah, that play gets a flag, yet Shaun Rogers blatant after the pass hit on Ben doesn't even get an afterthought.

Exactly. Fortunately we still got the win. To quote Silverback's predecessor - "Cheat that!!!"

Definately worth it. Hopefully starts some talk and refs stop calling this kind of bullshit.

Did anyone see the call on Suggs that cost them the game? Even more bullshit than this.

The officials let Ben take hits that he shouldn't because he's so big, so tough, and that's the way he plays the game.

You get more calls if you're a puss

Question...is it just me but on the play where Garrard threw the touchdown pass, didn't Silverback get tripped by Jones-Drew? Harrison came in on the pass rush, Jones-Drew went to block him, Harrison just pasted him onto his back and when he tried to go for Garrard, it looked to me like Jones-Drew scissored his legs to trip him. Did anyone else see this? If so, why no f'ing flag for tripping?

Mav525
10-06-2008, 10:44 AM
It was the pass play that gave them 21.

Coryea
10-06-2008, 10:46 AM
Yeah I saw him Mav, they never really showed a replay though, but yeah I saw it the same way. There was an obvious hold on Woodley earlier on the drive by a RB, Woodley got the corner and the RB grabbed him and basically tackled him.

You know..I just think the refs feel bad for anyone who has to go against Harrison in any way shape or form..so they just give them all the benefit of the doubt.

Mav525
10-06-2008, 10:50 AM
Coryea,
I saw that too. Their protection couldn't handle Harrison and Woodley and were using every trick in the book.
It just seems like everytime we play the Fags, the refs want them to win.

From the angle I saw, it looked like he only hit his shoulder--missed the head entirely.

Im putting a check in the mail this morning for $10 to Steelers main office. Maybe we should all chip in. Bullshit calls dont even phase me anymore, it just seems like that I know the Steelers are going to get them (or not get what should get called) and hope we have enough of a lead to not let it make the Steelers lose.

Balls&YourWord
10-06-2008, 11:37 AM
Yep, totally bogus call, that play happens every drive in the NFL. If they called that for us the opposing teams would average around 200 yards in penalties for all the hits Ben takes after letting the ball go.

we did get screwed on a few calls but they made up for it by not flagging essex on a blatant hold to get moore around the end on his big scamper on the game winning drive. Thought for sure that one was coming back...how's that feel faguars??? blatant hold and the refs swallow their whistles bwahahahaha

I like how Al Michaels slipped in the apology letter reference the Steelers got AFTER we lost to Jax in the playoffs last year for not calling holding on Garrard's run. Whoops, sorry Steelers. Fuck bullshit calls

Ditto. But don't call their LT for obscene holding on EVERY @#$%ing play. Especially ignore the LT tackling Silverback by his facemask - what, at least 10 times.

That was a call that made it even more evident the @#$%ing zebras were in the tank for the fags. That and that taunting call that got that piss ant ref all wadded up. "Oh I simply won't stand for those Steeler brutes taunting".

I love Harrison. Glad he ripped the officials after last night's game. That personal foul call was total B.S. We got robbed on quite a few, but still pulled it out. Great teams do that.

They rarely call holding when the blockers hands are inside like Essex's were on that play...not that they wouldn't call it on us..but I see that kinda of hold all the time. The ones were they get thier hands outside the shoulders will be called 90% of the time ..unless your name is Barnes and you are blocking Harrison ..

I can't believe any defensive player on any team liked that call, they have got to get the call under control. Hell, he didn't even drive him into the ground, he let up.

What do the officials think he should have done, let up and then Garrard not throw it and start to run?

Ben never gets that called for him, I was pissed off and let the "f" bombs fly after that call

Smooth Criminal

As bad of a call as this was, Suggs got flagged for the same thing and he barely touched Collins. One of the worst calls I've ever seen.

Something has to be done about all these flags. Their simply bullshit calls.

I am one who understands that the refs are human and sometimes make mastakes, but it appears that the Steelers are usually the ones getting screwed by their mistakes.

Not even close to his head. Period. The ball was barely out of his hand, complete bullshit call. Period. Exclamation point.

There were entirely too many of those "Taunting" calls on both sides. They had a couple too that were iffy.

However, the one on Washington was the worst - you saw the coach on the sidline who was screaming and waving his hands that it was no catch; Washington just gets up and shows him the ball to "prove" he caught it. Flagged for Taunting. Freakin Stupid.

I hate and loathe the Gavens ... and even I know that it was a bad call. It wasn't head to head, it wasn't fist to head, it wasn't anything to head. It was a bad call.

That being said, Silverback won't be denied. :D

One step is legal and within the rules. There were no steps between the release and the hit. He merely traveled on his extended leg. Terrible call, but happy to see that Hocculi didn't make it. Poor guy needs a bye week too.

What do you expect from a league that makes shitfulls of money and STILL refuses to hire professional full time officials.

You hire someone part-time, you pay them part-time, you get part-time job performance.
