Steelers OLB are #2 & #3 in sacks

1. John Abraham 7
2. James harrison 6.5
3. Peezy 6
4. Woodley 5.5

We better pony up the cash to keep arrison, let Starks, Smith hit the door, draft a top flight LT add a tier 2 RT, draft a C, add DL depth.

Essex when starting has'nt looked that bad Smith we have seen gets raped by Speed Demons as does Colon but you would expext a proper sized OT like Smith to use technique to adjust to giving up sacks but he did nothing vs Philly, Essex is very smilar OT to Smith just average.

Harrison is the team leader on D, Farrior may be the caption but Harrison's play reflects what u need out of ur best LB when ur offense is doing nothing, has a non stop moter and is just plain nasty.
They better find a way to keep him and the top solution starts with releasing Simmons in February.

Are you serious? Essex is FUCKING PATHETIC!!! He's 10x worse than Marvel Smith & I am not a Marvel Smith fan. Essex gets bull rushed, overpowered, run through and beat around the corner by anyone who lines up against him. Just rewatch this past Sunday's game vs the Jags when Essex came in....check out his mad skills especially on the first series....first play he gave up a sack as the guy ran right through his fat ass.

Essex doesn't even belong on an NFL roster....not even the Steelers. This is a guy who was a TE in college and basically ate his way into the position of OL. He's about as conditioned as Gilbert Brown or Sean Rogers. He's just terrible!!!

Unfortunately if we let McFadden walk have to think about drafting another CB.

You can't let McFadden walk...that guy has been unreal in coverage this year. It's Deshea that needs to go.

Getting back on the actual topic of the thread, Woodley was surprisingly (to me at least) humble and well spoken.

Don't get me wrong because I totally believe that he needs to be resigned. I just have a bad feeling his asking price is going to be out of our range. The more he plays the higher his price goes up because he has been playing at a high level. I will be really pissed if we let him walk.

I hate Jim Rome and his bullshit introduction "What...is...up" It's "What-up foolz!" If you're going to try an be all hip, remove the stick from your ass!!!

The interview was pretty good though. Nothing earth shattering. I miss Joey Porter when it comes to interviews. Dude is crazy

Townsend would still be a pretty damn good 3rd CB.

He has been a good player for us, done many good things. Not fast, but always in position due to his great technique and knowledge of the position.

But yes........we cannot let McFadden walk. We drafted him, crafted his skills, and now let him walk out? Screw that.........if McFadden is not resigned i would fire Colbert on the spot.

If we can pay $7 MILLION a year for the 8th best OL, we can pay for McFadden.

Pay Mcfadden and Pay Harrison
Release Simmons & Townsend( if his cap # can help us to retain B-Mac, Deshea is a great guy but his time a as a starter and I think even as a nickleback is done) he is too slow, tackles worse and cant catch.
W.Gay should be getting reps in the Dime set.

Chicoman I am no fan of Essex but have lost my patience with Marvel, the Philly game just watched the Edge guy run around him, didn't fair a lot better vs Suggs.
We know niethier Essex or Starks are the long term solution at LT, don't feel paying Marvel 4 3-4 years is that wise as he is so dam inconsistent, for the pussy zone scheme Hills with time can easily start, just needs reps and add more upper body strength, and by 2010 he should be able to start, was good at Texas, looking at teams that use Zone the LT's are finesse cunts ( Uguoh, whoever is Houston's LT).
Cost wise move retain Essex for 2 years like 2 years 2.6 mill add a a OT in rnd or 2 but if Mack is their can't pass on a blue chip C again.

FO will have to make cuts and if since they paid Ike, Troy, Ben, FWP they can continue by paying B-Mac and Harrison.

rough market value guess

Mcfadden 5 years 25-27 mill 7.5 mill bonus (Ike in 2006 got 5 years 22.5 mill 6.4 bonus)
Harrison 4 years 18 million, get raise as he is a top 5 OLB don't believe in that over 30 done shit, extend him and front load the deal by paying him more for 09 & 2010, B-Mac back load that shit
