Norv Turner is “flying” the San Diego Chargers talented roster about as well as Buddy Holly’s pilot. Marty Schottenheimer may have fallen short of the Super Bowl 2 years ago, but at least he got them to that AFC championship game. Missing the playoffs is a real possibility for this team.

More than a year removed from Bill Parcells departure in Dallas, it appears that Wade Phillips can’t get TO to stay on his meds like the Tuna did. Terrell & the ‘Boys will be providing some quality sideshow entertainment before the regular season ends, and will golden boy Tony Romo ever get a playoff win? Magic 8 ball say ask again later.

By week 8 (or so), the Brady (never met a crotch I wouldn’t grab) Quinn era will get under way in Cleveland. If I were Hank Fraley, I’d get an extra thick jock for junk-grab protection.

Since the free-agency era in the NFL began, no “Franchise” QB has been allowed to test his value on the FA market. Teams routinely lock up stars at their most important position. There have been a few trades, a la Drew Brees, but Brady, Manning; Roethlisberger all will make their careers in one city.
While it’s debatable whether “franchise QB” applies, if you were Carson Palmer, would you want to sign another long-term deal to stay with the Bengals? He may go the way of Corey Dillon & Takeo Spikes and tell Mike Brown; “Not for any amount of money.”

Albert Hayneworth is the closest thing to a modern-day Joe Greene in the NFL today.

Brees wasn't traded. His contract ran out in SD.

Marty didn't have the Chargers is the AFC Championship 2 years ago.

Last year was NE vs. SD
NE vs. Indy
Pitt vs. Denver
Pitt vs. NE

Those are the last 4 AFC title games. SDs appearance was with Turner, not Marty.

Can't stand Turner, but the Chargers started off last year 2 - 3 and went to the playoffs.
I suspect though, that there is more wrong w/ LT's toe than has been reported. Something's not right there.

Haynesworth is scary good. I still can't shake the visual of him stomping on the head of the Dallas Center though, and that was just scary....

LMAO @ Magic 8 ball say ask again later.

My bad - I was thinking about the NE Sd game where Marlon McCree fumbled away the INT giving NE the game - I was thinking that was the AFC Championshio game & I was mistaken, my stream of conscioussness was more like a puddle here... :p

I think Wade Phillips has to at least make the NFC Championship game or he is gone, and that might not even be enough.

When is Palmers current contract up? Not sure he'll be considered a franchise QB if he continues to play the way he is currently playing.

I hate the Bengals, but I think Palmer is a pretty good QB, he's stuck behind a shitty Oline and in a bad situation, if he's smart he'll move along as soon as he can. Arizona, Chic, SF, Minn, Tampa may all be looking for QB's soon.

I know you're not old enough to remember darlin', but Joe Greene had some anger issues in his early days in the NFL.

Carson Palmer is under contract with the Bengals through 2014.

If he's getting our of there, he's going to have to hire Drew Rosenhaus to get the ball rolling.

I think Palmer will eventually end up with another team sooner than later and will return to his 4K yard seasons. I will predict either Tampa or Minnesota.

Palmer with the Vikings would make them instant Super Bowl contenders.

Albert Haynesworth is earning himself a big payday for his performance on the field. Wade Phillips is just keeping the seat warm for Jason Garrett.
