The rules:
You pick for the Steelers. You cannot pick ahead of where they have the Steelers slotted. No trading down. You get three picks and they are #27, #57, and #88.
They currently have us selecting:
1-Limas Sweed, WR, Texas
2-Roy Schuening, OG, Oregon
3-Matt Forte, RB, Tulane

1) Jeff Otah, OT, Pittsburgh
2) Roy Schuening, G, Oregon State
3) J Leman, LB , Illinois (blatant homer pick)
My selections:
#27-Michael Oher, OT, Ole Miss-Oher may be the most talented tackle in this draft behind Long, but the questions about his ability to learn and how quickly he can pick up an NFL offense linger, so I think he may be around here. He is not listed on this draft, so I assume they feel he does not opt out, but they listed Clady, another junior, earlier. If not Oher, give me Otah. Either way, I get a bookend. But, if Oher is there, I think I have to take the risk.
#57-Roy Scheuning, G, Oregon State-a big road grading guard that has good feet and can pull. He will probably be the #1 OG taken in the draft. The OG that plays opposite him could declare and the pair will be firmly in the top 5 OGs.
#88-There are a lot of ways to go here. I believe I would go after a WR, probably Keenan Burton (Kentucky), Marcus Monk (Arkansas), or Matt Urritia (Louisville). Of course, I could also take Eric Young (OG, Tenn) or Will Arnold (OG, LSU).
Drafting two potential starting guards and a franchise LT would set this line for the next 5 years. Of course, then I would be forced to spend my 2nd day picks on WRs, DEs, and OLBs.

1. Jeff Otah, OT, Pittsburgh
2. Dre Moore, DT, Maryland
3. Eric Young, OG, Tennessee

Marcus Monk, WR, Arkansas
Arkansas throws the ball about as often as the Dolphins win. He also missed time this season with a knee problem.
His bio:

you want size in a WR?
he's got it
6-6, 218
I'd take him in the 4th and be very happy if we got him there with the three above.
Since this is draft related, I thought I would post this here as well....
The top 10 seniors are:
Louisville QB Brian Brohm
Boston College QB Matt Ryan
Michigan OT Jake Long
Pitt OT Jeff Otah
USC OT Sam Baker
LSU DT Glenn Dorsey
USC DT Sedrick Ellis
Virginia DE Chris Long
USC LB Keith Rivers
South Florida CB Mike Jenkins
This is expected to be an UNUSUALLY strong junior class, so strong that Baker or Otah may be available at the end of the first, early 2nd.

All I know is that I had better see the letters G, C, RT, or LT before our first and second round picks in April

1. Jeff Otah, OT 6'7" 340 nice replacement for either tackle
2. Steve Justice, C 6'4" 284 needs to add 15 lbs and compete with our C's from day one.
3. Eric Young, G 6'4" 310 could start at RG and move Simmons to LG.
I realize this is extreme, all three on the OL, but unless we make a splash in FA, i don't see why not.

1. Quentin Groves 6-3 250 OLB Auburn - fans would scream at another LB...but they are all getting up there in age...but Woodley and Groves on the outside...Timmons on the inside...that's LB talent we haven't seen in ages...if Groves fell to us i'd HAVE to take him over any other talent available...
2. Duke Robinson 6-5 335 OG Oklahoma - to me he's the #1 OG out there...if he declares and he's still there for our second round pick...he'll be a staple for us...
3. Michael Oher 6-5 325 OT Mississippi - another underclassman...he'd be a steal in the 3rd round...

I want an all lineman draft. Out with the old (or just bad), and in with the new!
#27 Jeff Otah, OT, Pittsburgh
#57 Drew Radovich, G, USC
#88 Eric Young, G, Tennessee
CNNSI ranks the top 10 offensive players in college as:
10-Phil Loadolt, OT, Oklahoma
9-Malcolm Kelly, WR, Oklahoma
8-Andre Woodson, QB, Kentucky
7-Michael Oher, OT, Ole Miss
6-DeSean Jackson, WR, California
5-Jonathan Stewart, RB, Oregon
4-Brian Brohm, QB Louisville
3-Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College
2-Jake Long, OT, Michigan
1-Darren McFadden, RB, Arkansas
Honestly, that is 3 OTs in the top 10. It does not include Baker, Clady, Otah, Boone, and some others.
I really think that a first round OT should be our choice.

if Loadholt declares also...OT and OG from Oklahoma would be a good choice for any team...FYI...i'm not a Sooner fan...but i've seen a lot of Sooner games...Loadholt and Robinson are VERY good...

As much as I would like to turn in a Jeff Otah, Michael Oher, Adarius Bowman mock I can't in good conscience pretend they left off Bowman and Oher because they believe those guys are 4 rounders or worse, so I'll go with
Michael Oher IMO the most physically gifted lineman in this years draft. I doubt he will be available when we pick (especially after his combine) but if he is I believe we got a hell of a steal. If he stays until next year he is a top 5 pick.
Duke Robinson who I also believe is the number 1 Guard but my guess would be they didn't include him because he isn't a senior. In which case I would go with Scheuning.
Jordy Nelson 6-3 217 WR Kansas State a hell of a receiver. Big fast and physical. He would be the perfect guy to learn under Hines Ward. Not to mention I can almost guarantee that he will never show up in cornrows.
Honorable mention goes to Kendal Langford from Hampton. He would be a pretty good 3-4 DE

Mario Urrutia will be worse than Plaxico was for us. Misses easy catches and shorts arms them over the middle. He should not have declared and I think he's closer to a 5th rounder than a third.

I'm not in draft mode yet. I hope the Bengals do draft Laurinaitis. I will laugh and laugh and laugh. I have no idea what people see in this guy. He can play the pass pretty well dropping into a zone, but he can't actually man cover a RB, as Florida proved when they exploited him all game. He doesn;t fight through blocks, and lets plays come to him instead of attacking. I think he's Cato June.

3) OL
But not necessarily in that order.

When was the last time we used a high pick on a DL?
If we go 4-3 I can see Tomlin spending several high picks on DL and ignoring the OL

3) OL
But not necessarily in that order.
I'd be fine with that, but I think we also need D-Line depth. I'm fine with Hoke as Hampton's backup but we have absolutely no depth at DE. We all could witness what our defense can look like without Smith...
3x OL on day 1 would be ok, but I'd prefer 2xOL, 1x DL

I second that. After that I want depth for WR, DE LB and CB or S.
