Is he actually injured right now or was he just knocked out of the game???
Ironcitydrinker04

And thanks to the entire Steelers team for that injury since there is NO WAY in Cincy that the Steelers should have been in OT. NEVER. Not evena chance. So, thanks 52 other players plus coaches. You did a bang up job.
Hope Ben is well....to take abuse from a marginally better Ravens defense...OMG...The Chiefs dominated you...what does this bring??

Statistically we looked good on paper, but a few very big plays cost us this game.
Bad play calling, imagine that. Bad execution inside the red zone, i'm used to it by now with Ben. And, poor job managing the game, again!
I hope Ben is OK..but he sure is dumb to be diving head first, and it's not the first time he's done it. He went right back to the average QB he was in years past where he was in a position to score and a play resulted in a TD or big run back INT for the other team.

If he has ANY indication of a concussion to the SMALLEST degree, he sits next week, end of story. If that means our season, so be it, he is more important than one season. It's also time that they reign him in, he's not going to last us much longer at the rate he's going.

He's concussed all right. I suspect he was playing through one as well. He hasn't been seeing the field very well. Time to sit him and get him some rest and help. Get this legal bullshit out of the way and call it a year. This team and coaching staff are incapable of seeing what they are doing wrong.

We have injuries all over the field and aren't the best team in the league right now. So? Show a little class and give the Chefs some credit for not hanging their heads when they were down. Nice job by them.
Now, let's get ready for next week. The Rats are next up. Let's hurt somebody.

We need to go back to smash mouth. Holmes is gonna command more money anyways and he will walk. Throwing the ball 30+ times a game is not out syle. We got the qb for it but we don't have the line and good OC to be the Colts.

Because the coaches LET him do it. No, we don't have to go back and play offense like we have Bettis, we need to get a REAL OC that strives for balance and has knowledge of a REAL passing game to coach Ben to do crap RIGHT and not screw around. And one is coming available very soon.

You just don't get it do you? This team is average and has been exposed. Injuries? Oh paleeeze! Just shut up. Let me repeat this for you because you seem to be in denial. This team is average and has no depth. They will hurt no one... Wasn't that clear to you the past 2 games?? They are an underachieving team with no identity and a clueless OC. Some major changes need to be made before they can hurt anyone. Now go back to smoking whatever you are smoking and have an herbal tea while you are at it. Jesus Christ... This loss was brutal, and it's hard to defend their play but settle down a bit. This is essentially the team that won a Super Bowl not that long ago. To think the season is over is just ludicrous at this point.

Roethlisberger appears okay after game
Sunday, November 22, 2009
By Ed Bouchette, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who left today's game in overtime after taking a blow to the head, appeared to be lucid in the Steelers locker room after their 27-24 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
"Needless to say, it was a concussion-oriented thing, so I doubt he was going to come back into the football game,'' coach Mike Tomlin said.
However, Roethlisberger told the Post-Gazette as he pulled on his dress suit in the locker room that while he did not know if he received a concussion or not, he felt okay.
Roethlisberger left the game with 12:21 remaining in overtime after he scrambled and was sacked near midfield. Linebacker Derrick Johnson's knee inadvertently hit Roethlisberger in the head as the quarterback hit the ground.
Charlie Batch entered the game at that point, the first time the veteran backup has taken a snap since the 2007 season.
Starting left guard Chris Kemoeatu also left the game with a sprained MCL in his right knee. A similar injury kept safety Troy Polamalu sidelined for four games but offensive lineman normally can return more quickly because of the nature of the position. However, Kemoeatu is still likely to miss a couple of games with the injury.

You see that is the whole point! This is the Superbowl champs and they seem to have been exposed. The season is a whisker from being over. That is the cold hard reality. If you can't beat mediocre and bad teams as the defending champs, what does that say? I love this team and probably have been watching them many more years than you have. Since '69 actually. I have seen it all. This team is curently on life support and doesn't seem to be focused like they are the defending champions.... I don't see an identity with this team. Hey it's just a game...

This team is curently on life support ...Sorry Aged Steel, but I don't see it, just yet. I sit here and still can't believe we just lost to the Chiefs. Unbelievable & unacceptable... but there's still an opportunity to be had this year, not ready to throw the towel in, sounds like you've reached that point already.

No doubt about it... I hope history repeats. I am just really concerned that this team has to many deficiencies to overcome. So far I think that has been the case. Can they find the magic again with these coaches and the current roster? This defense has not been great this year and doesn't know how to put away a team. The offense has also been spotty. Not the way to go into December....

3 and short arians is deformed retarded, kept ben in the gun 5 step drop , after the 1st few times it was easy to see they were gonna bring 6 or 7 soi why not a hb or wr screen? remember those in 05?
I didnt like the last call a toss on 3-3, if we just wanted to run should ran a delay, mendy would of fought for extra yds ands maybe we would of picked up the 1st down or attempted what would have been a 54 yd FG.

The Defense is IN our backfield.then its 2nd and 3rd and long ..no guessing what we gotta do then ( next thing you know Ben Picked in the endzone) I KNOW we won a SB with Ariens ...but we have way to many weapons to live like we do on offense. Its very sad to watch at times. Anyone wanna tell me why I am wrong ... I am listening .

Of course I do ... but here is the incredibly huge difference.
In 2005, Ben went down for 4 games. Batch comes in and goes 2-0. Tommy Maddox stinks up the joint, going 0-2. Ben comes back from the injury and struggles in the first game, losing to the Bungles. Steelers are then 7-5, but had their QB back, and shaking the rust off.
This year, the problems are not related to Ben being out. Quite the opposite ... the concern now is that Ben may miss time. This season is not going to turn around when Ben gets back on the field after being out 4 games.

I don't know. I thought Ben played extremely well today. I do not know how much of the INT in the endzone was his fault, as the ball was tipped and came out flat right to the defender. It sure looked like Ward was open in the corner of the endzone and if the ball would have came out with more arch, it probably would have been a TD

some good news for a change:
from rotoworld:
A league source tells Profootballtalk.com that the early signs for Ben Roethlisberger (concussion) are "encouraging."
Roethlisberger was cleared to make the team flight home to Pittsburgh, remembers everything that happened on Sunday, and isn't dealing with any nausea. Big Ben was knocked out of the game in overtime on a hit by Chiefs LB Derrick Johnson. The Steelers play the Ravens in Week 12. PFT's source says "it'll take a lot" for Roethlisberger to sit out the intradivision matchup. Nov. 22 - 11:50 pm et

I concur, Ben's health is way more important than the next game - I was saying this just after the incident - and I think we have a very capable back-up to sub for him but even if we didn't...you keep Ben out the next game; I really doubt this will happen though.

Let me ask you this, in all seriousness... Do you think last year's team was average?

Denver's stat line - 21-29 for 233 yards, 3 td's, 1 int.
Cincy's stat line - 20-40 for 174 yards, 0 td's, 1 int.
KC's stat line - 32-42 for 398 yards, 3 td's, 2 ints
I see ONE bad game from Ben in there. Ben played lights out today, Miller tips one to the defender, and Ben gets hit on the other and he had a bad game and isn't seeing the field? he made great throws all day long, hitting receviers in stride, finding the open man over the middle, checking it down. are you upset because Sweed didn't get in the past two weeks?
Back then they had one of the greatest motivators of all time as an HC. Right now, they have a YMCA administrator as an HC. See the difference?
yes, because last year shows us that Tomlin did nothing at all to motivate this team and keep them going despite the most difficult schedule in the NFL, a barrage of injuries, lack of running game, and inconsistant offense in general. that "one of the greatest motivators of all time" had games like yesterday happen quite often actually. one of the most notorious would be THE Raiders game, closely followed by THE Texans game. I guess when it takes you 13 years to win a SB you get a pass, but when you win one in your second year you skip the pass and get shit on directly.

The bad part of the play he got hurt on is Ben had Mendenhall wide open 5 yds in front of him he could have flipped the ball to and he ran instead. I was screaming for him to stop and throw - he's wide open!!!!!

It's not all on him but he's not blameless either.
He's the field general - it's his offense. He has input, he's not a robot blindly calling plays.
Why didn't Ben audible more often to the run? He's able to look over the defense and adjust his calls at the LOS, right?

Ben was not at fault for either pick. The usually sure handed Heath missed one, and he was hit on the other throw, forcing it to come up short.
People should give themselves a day to calm down before posting irrational threads (we suck, team is done, fire tomlin, etc.). . .The loss sucks because Cincy lost and we could have made up that game on them. THAT is what pisses me off the most. What burns my ass more than anything else, week afeter week, are the dropped INT's by our secondary (troy notwithstanding).

that was not the blockers fault. i saw what BB was going to do before the play started and saw that he was going to run to the bottom and throw or run it in. the way the coverage was he should have ran the ball in. he had a blocker in front of him. he could have atleast got it to the 3 or 2nd yardline. he had QB runs on alot of plays. he needs to take them sometimes.
