Packers werent suppose to finish 3rd or higher in their division according to most experts, some (including myself) questioned whether time had past Favre by. GB wins division and Favre has far better year than expected. GB wins first playoff game and Favre has to possibly go to Dallas in NFCC game where he is 0-100. Dallas blows it and now Favre gets home field game @ Lambeau with chance to make Superbowl.

Bettis career was coming to an end and everything fell into place, despite Bettis trying to fumble it away and the most accurate kicker in NFL history at the time shanks a makeable FG. Bettis goes home to Detroit and wins the superbowl!

Now Favre has a chance, which could possibly be his last year (especially if they win it all), to knock off the all-mighty undefeated Pats. GB should beat NYG at Lambeau. Just thought it was freaky similiar to that of Bettis in 2005. If GB does make it Im cheering for Favre! That would be a great ending to a great career and most importantly the Pats would lose!

I don't see anything similar that you mentioned except they both play the same sport. They look almost like polar opposites. GB won their division and will play 2 home games while the Steelers were 6th seeds and played 3 road games. Bettis played the SB in his home town while Farve will play in Arizona which isn't his home.

Sorry, I just don't see the similarities.

The Pats will kill them...but other than that, similar.

unless Favre retires after winning the SB.....I don't see many similarities either. Nice try, though.

Jerome Bettis is from Detroit...

Not many similarities here. The Packers didn't go on a roll to make the playoffs, have a miracle run on the road, including almost blowing it by a costly turnover, and then win in your hometown only to retire after the game.

I feel what you're sayin' about Favre and how it would be cool to have him win a SB then ride off into the sunset and all that. But his team's defense needs to get the message and stop the *'s. Nobody seems to be able to slow them down at all and that sucks.
