I didn't see this posted on another thread anywhere but the guide on my TV says the NFL network will be showing Super Bowl X this Thursday at 8:30. I haven't watched any of the other replays they've shown but it lasts 3 hours so I figure it must be the entire game (or most of it). I guess it is possible it might be SB XIII because in the description it says Pittsburgh becomes the first team to win 3 super bowls, but the date is in 1-18-76. Either way, I know I'll be recording it. :)

Make sure you're either watching it live, or set it to record long (by at least 30 minutes). The last time they showed a classic Steelers Super Bowl, I just had my tivo record it for the 3 hours that they allotted, with the expectation that I'd watch it later. Well, the game lasted longer than 3 hours, so I didn't get the last 7 minutes or so of game time.

Pissed me off, too. The game is 30 years old! You think they'd know how long it takes to air the damn thing.

Thanks for the heads up, too.

Thanks for the tip Sanja. I will make the necessary adjustment to the timer just in case I am not there when it starts. You're right, you would think they would know how long the game lasted.

I noticed last night they said they were going to show SB XXXII at midnight. I went to bed at 12:30 and it still hadn't started yet.

X was a good Super Bowl. IX was special as it was our first. It was a low scoring defense first affair. Super Bowl X on the other hand began to show the true Steeler Colors. The Black and Gold dominance was beginning to take hold. Better yet we were defending champions and were playing with a certain swagger. Yep those were the days.... Bill Cowher would have been a Jr in High School playing for the Carlynton Cougars.

I''m going to record it on my DVR so when I throw my Super Bowl party this year everyone will be surprised that we are watching Super Bowl X instead of the Friggen Pats vs Packers.

Irv you may get beat up. If you throw a Super Bowl party and then don't show it you may piss some folks off. At least warn them first so that they may go somewhere else.

My house. My party. My Super Bowl of choice is X or XL.
If they don't like it they can leave.
I'm sure they can find a good sports bar to watch the Pats.

Any chance this might make it to some Torrent site? I found Super Bowl XIII a while back and what a contrast with today. No special graphics, not even a score on the screen, and the hitting was savage. Play that same game today and it would set a new record for personal fouls in a game. On the interception by Mel Blount, Dwight White just about cuts Roger Staubach in half. Another thing - no special SB ads - just the regular McDonald's, Hertz, and the like. Can't remember when the SB became more hype than game.

Maybe... but they'll probably be available on DVD from the NFL in time for next Christmas.

Super Bowl IX was a very special day in the city of Pittsburgh....it almost felt as if Pittsburgh was formally introduced to the rest of the country...

Pittsburgh truly became...."someplace special"....

Oh so they are going to show the team of classless, dirty, egotisitcal, cheating bastards vs. the team aspiring to be classless, dirty, egotistical cheating bastards.

Whining should be in there somewhere. Rivers is getting Brady's every down bitch down to a science.

Why? Because America can't get enough of those Patriots!

The last time I saw SB X, I was 10 years old. It would have been neat to see it again.

That's a damn shame.

What exactly did Rivers say? I haven't seen any quotes.
