Is there any insight on why he can't get much playing time... I expected a lot from here this year, knowing our LB's were getting a little older and slower... I don't get much news down here on him and was wondering if you guys can provide some input... The only time I really remember seeing him is stomping on Ricky Williams...

i think he's mostly a special teamer right now....too bad IMO. him and Woodley need to play. they are both going to be good, but need to PLAY to get better.

hopefully next season we see ALOT of each.

I expected more of Woodley than Timmons. Hopefully we'll see more of both this week.

I agree ICsteel, but he just doesn't seem to be getting many reps on D... I was thnking he'd get 15 snaps a game at least...

Polamalu did not play much his rookie year either. That's the Steelers.

Seems he's gotten more the past 4 games than he got for the first half of the year. About what I expected to this point. He wasn't brought in with the expectation of starting immediately. He's being groomed the way Troy P was. People bitched to no end that he sucked and was a bust that year.

His lack of playing time is due to the position is he is backing up.
Hard to give a rookie more playing time, when the guy in front of him is playing like a pro-bowler.
If he was backing up another position I think you'd see him playing a bit more.

Timmons primarily backs up Harrison on the outside...

He could play 3 of the 4 spots probably... I just expected him to get more reps...

yep, he's an OLB.

as for rookies not playing, that's crap.
Searcy, Kirkland, Brown, CJ, Faneca, Smith, Edwards, Burresss, Simmons, Miller, Bruener, Bell, Hampton, Troy all played alot as rookies. Searcy, Miller, Simmons, Faneca, Bell, Hampton, Marvel, Edwards, Burress all started alot of games as rookies.

The Polamalu analogy has never been a good one. Troy was in on packages from day 1 in Lewis' nickel happy D. He was logging 30+ snaps a game. That's in the neighborhood of 500 snaps that season. What's Timmon got logged? 5? 10?

You're right people bitched about Polamalu. He really started to pick it up this time of year his rookie tilt, and by then I think most people were off the bitchfest, and knew they had a player for the future, and a sure starter the next season. Looking forward, I don't think anyone here can say with any confidence what they've got with Timmons. Even his position is uncertain. Just a handful of wishes.
