So, who do they get now?
I love Vince Young, but right now he is no better than Kordell.
A better option would have been to spend some money on getting a legit NFL WR on their roster.

We all know Arians isn't going anywhere but damn, I'd like to have Chow here. Poor guy got saddled with a loser QB that couldn't handle his offense.

Tell me if you think the right guy got fired:
Matt Leinert played his entire college career in Norm Chow's offense & was extremely sucessful. The Titans draft Vince Young.
Not saying Leinert's a better QB than Young, just more familiar with the offense.

The real kicker will be if they bring back Pacman.
Yeah that'll makes sense, fire Norm Chow and keep Pacman.

My guess is Norm won't be without work long, especially if Pete Carroll takes the Atlanta job and the USC job opens up.

Must have been something going on behind the scenes....it's Chow's fault that Vince is overrated?

The man coached the offense of BYU to a national championship and tons of high output stats. Then coached USC's offense to a couple championships and gaudy stats. He left Kiffin and Sarkisian smelling like Roses as the next USC OCs that just followed his plan. And then came Vince Young. Yeah, it's Chow that doesn't get it.

They have one of the worst, if not the worst, starting QB in the league. They have weakest WRs in the league. Probably the worst TE tandem in the league.
Naturally you fire the coordinator.

How can the front office keep Arians when Chow is out there? If I'm them I jump all over the opportunity to get this guy.

I never understood the reason Chow and Vince Young were married together. Didn't make sense to me. Vince Young's skill set is very different from what Chow utilizes in his game plan. Didn't Norm Chow accuse VY of pouting or being a baby about things and that he needs to grow up? Or faking an injury? Something along those lines just before the playoff game with the Chargers.

Vince Young is no Roethlisberger, that's for sure. One can only imagine what our offense would look like with a guy like Chow calling the plays.

I don't understand the reasoning behind this at all. It'll be interesting to hear how Titans fans around here react to it. It's a pipe dream but he sure would be an upgrade over Arians

Anyone have the O-coordinator template?

Norm Chow was never used properly in Tenn.
We should get rid of Arians to get him in the Black and Gold.
Imagine what Ben could do with him.

I never understood the pairing either.
Ive never really had an opinion on VY either way. Dont like him; dont hate him. I only saw a few Titans games this year, but he looked like he always had something better to do than play the game.

Kordell's progeny (i.e. Vick and Vince Young) continue to be coach killers! Weeeeeee.

Chow would fail as a head coach in college because of his personality or lack there of. He would have trouble recruiting...he can't sell himself in job interviews so what makes you think he can convince a kid to play for his school....have you guys ever heard him talk? It's better than Nyquil.
I don't think he'd be a good head coach because he's so, so dull and has no life to him...now, as Off Coordintr I'd take him bcause he's shown what he can do.

The O.C. for the Patriots takes a HC job and Chow becomes the Patriots new OC.

Vince Young is a terrible QB! Never will be able to cut it in the NFL.
He's worse than Kordell and Ron Mexico.

Unfortunately that's probably a little closer to reality than any of us would like.
So, why is it we can't dump Arians?
Not saying this season has been entirely his fault with the way Ben has had to run for his life because his line was getting manhandled, but there were too many WTF Was He Thinking calls for me to entirely blame the line for our offensive woes.

He's gotten results everywhere, so what makes you think USC wouldn't look at the results and give him a chance?
Since Chow just got the axe, is there any chance the Rooneys could be discussing him now?

Chow is a throw first run second kind of guy much like Ariens. You guys who want Ariens fired and Chow hired, explain yourselves. Look at Ben's stats and explain to me just how much better the offense would be if Chow were to replace Ariens. Don't give me the better play calling angle either unless you have watched Titan games and know Chow is a better play caller.
I'm fine with the offense as is. Improvement on the OL would be an area of concentration, imo, and also pass coverage. I think we only picked off 11 passes last year. I'd like to see up a little better in theball hawking dept. Replacing the OC isn't a priority, imo because the offense was good this year and the big toe (Ben) likes the OC. A happy productive big toe often leads to a happy productive foot.

Chow wouldn't have called a fucking QB draw behind a 3rd string Tackle - take that to the effin bank.

it looks like he is going to be the OC at UCLA
Norm Chow is headed back to Los Angeles — as a Bruin
Chow, the former USC and Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator, has accepted the same job at UCLA Sunday, according to sources in a report by the L.A. Daily News.
He will join new Bruin coach — and former UCLA QB — Rick Neuheisel in Westwood.
Chow, who spent three years in Tennessee, was fired by the Titans after this season. He has thrived as a college offensive coordinator, having coached at Brigham Young University and N.C. State, in addition to USC. At all three stops, he helped develop highly successful quarterbacks who have played in the NFL, including Steve Young, Jim McMahon, Philip Rivers and Heisman Trophy winners Ty Detmer, Matt Leinart and Carson Palmer.
UCLA returns seniors Ben Olson and Patrick Cowan at quarterback this year.
Chow won the 2002 Broyles Award as the nation's top assistant coach while with USC.

So he turns down being the head coach a month ago and now decides he want to be the OC, interesting.

USC had a chance to ice the game against Texas. Chow RAN and Texas stuffed Lendale White, got the ball back and scored to win.

He also called a 4th down and one (or less) pass against Notre Dame for Leinart that if it went incomplete would have lost the game for SC.
