View Full Version : Even Trade: No Playoffs for No more B.A.

A caller on SteelCityPostGame said exactly what I was feeling.
I can't stand suffering through watching these Offensive schemings, and piss-poor calls in critical situations. (IE: Hines sweeps on the GL last yr, and this week Moore's sweep on 3rd and 2)
So as a fan, I think I would gladly miss the playoffs than to have to watch BA call another season w/ the weapons we have.
I can handle not using a FB,... fine. But passing on 2nd and shorts and odd-ball playcalls at the weirdest times drives me up the wall.
BA tries to out-think everyone and instead just F#@%s everything up.
NO, the season is not over, not by a long shot! Both our recent SB runs had real sh!tty periods.
Last NOV, no one was thinking this Offense and OLine could win it all.
But if there's any consolation to missing the PostSeason, it's the removal of Arians.

Who said Tomlin would fire him if we missed the playoffs???
Nobody, but it would give Tomlin a reason. I was hoping for another SB, partly because if we won two then SOMEONE would have to hire B.A. away.

Well, I was positve last season that we'd lose in the Playoffs b/c of Arians.
I was wrong.
But guess what? Every other team knows Arians aint good enough to wanna take him off our hands.
I'm not like MikeKing and his hatred for Cowher, wishing for losses; but if missing the POs boots BA outta Pburgh, I'll accept that (w/ a sigh of relief).

I get the feeling the Steeler players are losing confidence in (some) of the coaches. Not good.

I hate Arians like I hated Mularkley. Fucking douche bag. If MT doesnt get rid of his ass, Im going to start questioning him.
I think that's fair.
Now that Mendy is rolling, FWP is getting healthier, and the Oline is improving; there's no reason to not be a balanced offense.

How about getting to the playoffs and still firing Bad News Bruce and Ligaherski or whatever his name is? Am I dreaming here?

Don't know if missing the playoffs get's Bruce fired, but I believe making the playoffs will keep him around at least another year or more. I can't stand this guy, but if the team wins in spite of him he will keep his job because Tomlin would take a ton of heat if he fired Bruce and then we struggled when we had success when he was here. So, while I don't wish to miss the playoffs I know Bruce is here till the team suffers ,unfortunatley

I will take the playoffs - it worked out for us last year with BA like him or not. And if we do well, you might get your wish because it makes it more likely that some other team will hire him away. Whoever said you can't have your cake and eat it too should be slapped...

If the No. 1 and 2 QBs are out Sunday, making the playoffs goes from questionable to doubtful (to apply a little NFL injury lingo).
So...make the most of the season -- and then fire Brucie.

Sorry, I will take the playoffs any year. Proven fact that once the playoffs start, it is a whole new season.
I can't believe people would pin yesterday's mess on Bruce Arians. The whole team is accountable for the turds they laid on Heinz Field and Arrowhead the past two weeks

Arians is a moron. He sat there and watched Mendy rip that defense. He saw our OL having problems with pass protection up the gut. YET he still calls twice as many passes as runs. Then to top it off he gets our slowest RB to run a sweep to to take us out of FG range. The guy is a moron plain and simple.

No disputing that. But to think he's the only problem on this team is laughable at best. When Matt Cassel shreds your defense in the 4th quarter, you know there are bigger issues. This team cannot win without TP. That's a problem. Huge problem

Maybe but when your offense if give away points like a $2 hooker it is hard to blame the defense for giving up a below average number of points. I do believe the defense played like crap.. however the offense gave away the game with 2 picks, horrible play calling, and an inability to put the game away.

A $2 hooker gives away points? I think you're getting ripped off - you're supposed to get something else...

As much as everyone wants BA gone, I say, be careful what you wish for. Yes, BA leaves much to be desired, but I put much of the onus on Ben. He too many critical situations he plays too recklessly. My concern is, Ben has been in virtually the same system for his entire career and still doesn't seem to have control over this offense. Can you imagine how long it might take Ben trying to learn a new system? Scary thought...

still want to make the playoffs. maybe we get lucky and something happens like kemo busting a knee and we take off from there. the thing with this team is if ben gets hot and the d steps up a little they can go a long long way. we just need tomlin not to be blind or the rooneys and get rid of the dead weight no matter what happens
