Nice to see Richie Boy is gonna bail on ya to Michigan.

As an OSU fan I couldn't be happier.

If he can't beat fucking Pitt, there's no way in hell he can take out Ohio State!

Bring him on!!

He couldn't put away a bad Pitt team.

He'd make Mich fans long for Llyod back.

They can have him. He's tried holding his alma mater hostage for two years running for more money. Last year they gave in, this year he sneaks around to do interviews? He has no integrity and has damaged his own ability to recruit now and in the future. I wouldn't let my kid play for a guy who's itching to leave the way he carries himself, and neither will a lot of others.

It isn't like the Michigan job is better than what he has. I don't want to hear about their ancient history either. Had he not pissed himself against Pitt he'd be playing OSU for the championship this year. Most of his offense returns next year so he had a chance to be in the hunt for back to back shots at the title. If I were the AD I'd look into grounds for firing his ass without pay. There has to be wording in his contract after last year's drama about the way he handled all of this. If he leaves I won't shed a tear and I could care less what his record is. By the way, all the UM fans that don't want him? As pissed as I am at him right now he's a better coach than every other guy they've talked to. Les MIles had a good season with Saban's kids and lost the top spot twice already. He's never won dick to be treated like a savior. Had the above mentioned coach not choked against Pitt he'd be on the outside looking in this year with arguably the best team in the country. Can you tell I'm pissed off right now?

You Fool!!! Don't you know that Rodriguez runs a spread option and no Big Ten team can possibly compete against a spread offense. It's a known fact.

In shambles? I don't care who coaches them next year, with the kids they have coming back they'll be a top ten team minimum. If that's a shambles I'll take it every year.

Miles did something Rodriguez couldn't do... win a game to play for the national Title. What has Rodriquez ever done?

The Hell he did. His team lost near the end of the year when they were number one for the second time. He'd be playing in the who gives a shit bowl had WVU not lost. Miles didn't do dick to get there, it was a gift.

Keep on believing that if you like. Right now I'm more worried about the draw they got in the bowl game. I'd rather play OSU or LSU than Oklahoma right now.

When a team like Pitt is the only thing standing in your way of a National Championship shot and you lose, there is absolutely ZERO reason why you should expect them to be a top team next season.

Not the same. WVU isn't Michigan and Pitt isn't App State. These teams have been playing the Backyard Brawl for 100 years. If you can't get up for this game, even when the team is considerably less talented, then you aren't a lock for being a top-10 team.

I agree with that. I've said it in all the debate threads about conferences. You can't recruit a bunch of track stars and play in the elements in the norhteast/midwest. When they go to bowl games against teams from the south they're in the hole before they take a snap. You can absolutely have a few skill players, but overall you can't recruit that way. You bring those guys up here right now to play in this shit and the top couple teams in the Big Ten can play with them because they play in the elements during the season. Tebow may offset it for Florida with his size and running ability, but the others wouldn't be running it up like they do every week down there.

LSU played in the conference championship game and won. All WV had to do was beat a bad pitt team and they couldn't. Each had 1 last game to get it done. LSU did it against a good decent Tenn team while WV couldn't beat a lowly pitt team.

You watched it, right? He has the best fullback in the country bar none and he's dicking around with Devine and Slaton back there which he had hardly done all season. Even the announcers said he was looking for ways to get them into the lineup together more. He was prepping for a later game and got bit in the ass for it. They aren't the first team to lose a rivalry game like that when they had no business even being in a game. His team couldn't stop the run when all the Panthers were doing is gashing them running. He got outcoached that day by the stache. Hell, it looked like the refs were even trying to give the game to him and he couldn't get his team to come through.

By the way, no matter how shitty they are Pitt is division one. I could care less how good App State looked against the Wolverines, or how good they are against their own level of teams. They aren't a division one school. WVU would beat Michigan if they played this year on a neutral field, too bad we won't get to see it.

These threads are always fun. It's a shame that Division 1 college football's a joke without a playoff. At least then there would be no more debate. I didn't disagree with the fact that WVU blew their shot against a shitty team. They should have dropped out of the top ten after that debacle.

Thats the thing though, the coaches weren't ready and the players weren't ready. If they were that good of a team, then the talent alone should have been able to take over. It wasn't, therefore they aren't that good of a team and there is 0 reason why you should be as confident as you are to suggest that they are 1) going to be a top-10 team next season or 2) would have beat Michigan, OSU, etc. in the National Championship or otherwise.

A lot of our debate may just be the way I'm wording what I'm trying to say.

You're right that they should have won that game easily with the difference in talent. A coach can only do so much before the players need to get pissed and start kicking some ass. They didn't have it that night regardless of the reason. Some cry about Pat White being hurt, but they weren't all that effective with him in there as far as scoring touchdowns. When they missed that first chip shot I knew they were in trouble. The refs were putrid in their favor too and it didn't matter. No excuses, they choked on it.

The way they finished the season doesn't have much bearing on next year imo. They are getting almost everyone back on offense. With that alone they are one of the top teams in the conference they play in. With the players the other current top teams in their conference are losing they should have a good shot at going through the conference undefeated next season.

I think they would beat Michigan. I can't guarantee it, but they have a lot of trouble with fast teams and WVU is as fast as any team in the country and they run out of the spread. I was just saying I think Oklahoma is the best team right now and I'm not thrilled to see that defense come January 2nd. I'd rather take my chances with a team from the big ten that doesn't see the spread much than play them. It wasn't as much a knock on them as not wanting to play Oklahoma. I have to be confident. As schizophrenic as the Steelers are this year I only have so much reality I can take.

Oh I know what you meant, they're your team. I'm just saying as someone who is impartial to both Pitt, WVU, and the BE, that was my take.

In regards to my comment about them in shambles, thats more my dislike for Rodriguez than WVU. I've never liked him.

That's my biggest beef with him right now. He may not be the front runner for him, but they're in the final three. That kid is watching all this shit, as is his family. If he stays put that's two years in a row he's looked at leaving. If I'm Pryor's family I wouldn't let my kid play for him. He was in position to possibly replace White and Slaton after next year with Prior and Devine. I hope he didn't blow it being a dumbass, but I'm sure he already did.

I don't see pryor going to WVU. I think he likes the offense which is an obvious fit for him, but wants to go to a bigger school. If rodriguez goes to Michigan, Pryor could follow.

But we all know Pryor is going to Penn State so there's nothing to worry about.

I'd be alright with that. Living here I don't want to hear the Michigan fans if it shakes out that way. I'm not too confident he's coming here anyways, but he'd be a perfect fit.

After watching his TD catch right before the half yesterday, I'm thinking Pryor may have greater success as a WR at the next level than QB. There aren't many tall, fast WRs out there with great hands like Pryor has shown.
