I got this off of MySpace, from SteelCityMafia.

Attention STEELCITY MAFIA FAMIGLIA and STEELERS NATION:
It's time to show someone the power of "STEELERS NATION." Here in Jacksonville, local sports radio host on the station 1010 XL, Mike Dempsey decided today to try to rub the Jaguars victory in our face by dissing our great fan base. He said that our worldwide fan base in a word is a "MYTH." They can say what they want about the Steelers inconsistant level of play, but this is a personal stab at YOU, the "non-existant" Steelers fan around the world.
Let's prove to him that Steelers Nation is BIG, STRONG, and most importantly, VOCAL!!!
You can email Mike to prove him wrong at:
pressbox@1010xl.com
Make sure you put in the subject line "ATTENTION MIKE DEMPSEY"
Don't be afraid to tell him "Mr. Steeler" and the "SteelCity Mafia" sent you, remeber to keep it classy, after all, we are not Brownie fans, wink wink). Here is what I told Mike in response to his opinion:
Mike:
I was liking you for a while there. I even enjoyed our bet last season. However, in listening to you this afternoon and calling the Steelers fan base, Steelers Nation, a "myth," you have now incurred my wrath. I so wanted to call in to the show, but I knew doing that would only result in your either cutting me off, or simply talking over me. There is no winning that argument on the air.
With that said, it's a joke for you to even try to compare the Jaguars fan base to ours. You base most of this on the fact that on tv you heard some boos and several thousand fans departing the game before it was over? I had a friend at the game and she told me she left only because it was so damn cold. It's one thing that the players get to run around in that climate and stay warm or have warmers behind their bench, but let me give Mr. Dempsey a free ticket to yesterday's game and watch him sit still in 30 degree weather along with rain and snow for three hours.
Ok, so what about the Jaguars? How many blackouts in the last five years of a home game? I don't care how big that stadium is. Expand Heinz Field to 100,000 and it fills up every game. I can't tell you how many Jaguar games I've watched in the last four years where the Jags fans left early when their team was down by a lot. IN DROVES. Fair weather fans we are? What a laugh. Explain to me then if these Jaguars are so diehard why only two found themselves brave enough to show up at the pep rally I had last year the day before the Steelers and Jaguars played while 1,000 Steelers fans came out. Or three years ago when there was 40,000 Steelers fans at Altell stadium. Wayne Weaver was so embarrassed that last year he made it a point to do his best to keep us out of the stadium, including producing a flier encouraging his season ticket holders not to sell their tickets to us (I still have that flier).
Whenever the topic of Steelers Nation and it being the best fan base comes up and someone tries to argue otherwise, I call that jealousy. Just to go my web site, Steelers Fans United (S.F.U.) - http://snu.steelershotline.com and click on "participating clubs" and you will see how many ORGANIZED Steelers fan clubs there are worldwide. While on that subject, how many Jaguars fan clubs are there worldwide? Wait...how many are there in JACKSONVILLE? Is that a zero Mike? Do you know how many "Steelers bars" there are here in Jax? Associated with my club alone JAXB.A.G. (Jacksonville Black and Gold) we have our headquarters at Chicago Pizza and Sports Grille and then five affiliate bars. All are known as "STEELERS BARS."
Fair weather fans? At our headquarters, all season long there may have been 3-5 Jaguars fans coming out every Sunday. They probably have not shown up because so many games are blacked out. All the sudden yesterday 20-25 showed up. Why? Because they came out knowing Chicago's is a Steelers bar and simply came to start trouble which they accomplished. I take nothing away from the Jaguars team. They outplayed us and by far were the better team yesterday and perhaps this season. It's too bad they can't find real fans. In fact, we have a new nickname for the Jaguars:
"WINN DIXIE JAGUARS"
That's because Winn Dixie consistently has to bail them out of blackouts by buying up the tickets that the team can't sell.
Mike...I'll close with this...you opened up a can of worms dude. You will be feeling the power of Steelers Nation in the next few days. I am going to forward this email and what you said about Steelers Nation to the thousands of contacts I have. Expect lots and lots of emails in your mailbox in the next 72 hours. Then you'll understand why we are in fact the greatest fan base in ANY sport.
Have a nice day!
