Haggans said the only way he won't play Thursday is, "if my heart stopped beating, that's it."
And here I was all excited that Smith & Haggans would be on the bench and we'd be better off.
This has been the longest two weeks of Anthony Smith's life...... or of his career anyway.
Live and learn Anthony, live and learn.

damnit, i dont want haggans to play. but anthony will still be on the field a lot, the kids going to be good in a year or 2. this is pretty much his rookie season and he is still in the learning process, troy also made mistakes his first couple years and still does..

Smiths problems can be solved if he simply stops peeking into the backfield.
Darren Perry was NEVER the best Athlete on the field, but he knew that he was the last line of defense and he played like it.
I think Smith and his aggressiveness is better suited for SS. He seems to not have a FS mental approach to the game.

Yeah, I think Smith needs to be sat down for 1 or 2 games. The young man needs some perspective and maybe he can get that view from the bench.

Maybe they should put Troy in with Carter, Smith is fucking useless.
TOOT! TOOT!
If Tomlin has taken this stand on Smith, expect Arians to be gone within minutes of our season being over this year.

Except when he was huffin' & puffin' behind Pupunu in the AFCCG that time. ;)

I'm glad this happened. People were so elated with Smith and his occasional big hits that they completely lost track of the fact that you still have to play football. "Oh, I can't wait until Anthony Smith kills him, etc!" Yawn.

Wasn't he a rookie that year? Plus, that was a lot more McKyer's(sp) fault then Perrys.

No, he was a rook in 92. & Martin was the one that burned McKyer. Pupunu was the TE, if we had a CB on a TE then we deserved to lose that game.

Considering we're 2-0 against you in the p-o's? Sure, looking forward to making it 3-0.

I think Smith will be a good player but he needs to listen to his coaches. Falling for playaction against the pats* is like trying to find a Lombardi Tropy in Cleveland.... if you see it, it ain't real.

Smith will be a star if he gets his head out of his arse and grows up a little. He still hits like a fucking freight train and has a nose for the football....great hands too!

Good question...how're things over at Heinz Field West? And how long has it been since you started publicly admitting to being a Browns fan? I'm guessing, oh about two months or so...

Great. The only guy that had an interception since I can remember and we bench him. Who was the last player to get a pick. Harrison?
Smith's pick is the only reason we had a chance to win against Jacksonville.

That's the way it will be. I look for great things happening with him.
Ben with his motorcycle and Smith with his big mouth. Ben came through and so will Anthony.

I perdict the shitstains will choke and lose to Cincy, thus blowing their only playoff chance of the decade.
Tenn will win out, take the Browns WC spot, Romeo-the-hut will get fired, Anderson will get shitcanned and the clown legacy will live on.

Not trying to start shit, but that one pic that he caught in self defense negates the long touchdowns he has shown a knack for giving up? Until he gets that solved he's lucky to be a nickel back.

The funniest thing I have ever heard. You obviously know nothing about the Steeler fan base. Most of us on this board were fans in the 70's when everything was great. But then we endured the 80's and 90's but here we are still here still cheerin' still real fans.
We have had 30,000 fans at away games, making it more like a home game.
You can't find devotion like that for any other tam in any other sport!

Just what we need. Haggans on the downside of his career is going to try to play even if he's clearly not ready. Even at full strength, he might not have what it takes anymore. Sit him Tomlin.

I've begun to see some Browns stuff show up in Cincy, a banner, a hat here and there. So they are emerging from their deep hole in SW Ohio...

So after two bad weeks, he's sitting Smith, but Haggans has played like shit all year and he still starts every week, or Colon, he's been getting his ass handed to him for the last month or so, why is he still starting over Starks?

Anthony Smith is this year's biggest disappointment. He is to this year, what Ike Taylor was to last year. Not only did I think he would start over Ryan Clark, I thought he would have a break-out season and be regarded as on of the leagues better safeties.

The 90's?
6 straight playoff appearences, 3 AFC title games, and a Superbowl appearence. Jeez, I'm surprised the suicide rate in Pittsburgh did not skyrocket during that decade.

This news should have the bookies scrambling. With Carter playing for Smith the over/under should drop by at least 7 points.

Smith just needs to be a little more disciplined. He talks a lot and gets too hyped up at times. He needs to calm down and let the game come to him. Relax, grasshopper!

Starks is now our starting LT until Smith's back is ready to go.
