If I recall correctly I think all that Ben did was throw at the combine and most people were surprised he even did that. I was told that his workout day at Miami U. was quite impressive.

his crappy workout was a blessing in disguise for us. That crappy workout caused him to fall to us in the draft.

Yeah, but it was more his level of competition that scared teams. In fact, it has been reported since that IF Manning would have stated he would sign and play for the Chargers, the Giants would have taken Roethlisberger at #4. Instead, Manning balked at SD, forced a trade, and they liked Rivers better, so the Giants took Rivers to trade.
If not for that, we may have Rivers here instead. IMO, we should all thank Eli for bringing Ben here.

If you want to see a low level of competition check out who Delaware plays.

I like Flacco but talk about a LOW level of competition.

Jerry Rice played against a bunch of scrubs. No wonder he sucked.

we should thank the other 10 stupid ass teams who blew him off because of playing at a "smaller" school and must have never actually watched him play..... Miami OH played a lot of "bigger" conference teams his last year of college, they were on ESPN thursday night several times..... I all the games I watched, he was the most dominanant player on the field, like a man among boys..... and he made way more plays on the run, bootlegging..ect... than the Steelers have allowed him to this point, he was like a giant Fran Tarkenton.
