Mrs. hook and myself are going to be moving from this god forsaken state of Florida. It cannot happen soon enough. Not quite sure when or where yet, but Atlanta is one possibility. One of the golf courses I'm sending a resume to is in Northwest Atlanta. Just looking for some friendly faces if we end up there, cuz there sure are not many around here.

Buffalo wildwings in kennesaw is a pretty big one. They tailgate in the parking lot before all of the games. Here is a link to there website http://www.steelernation.net/

I live in Acworth and usually have anywhere from 3-10 fellow Steeler fans over to watch at my house. You are more than welcome.

Which golf course are you talking about. Cobblestone?

StillerinGA, thanx for your input.

The courses I'm looking at are Horseshoe Bend and Club at Marietta.

If you're in NW Atlanta proper, then Charlie Mopps (http://www.charliemoppspub.com/modules/content/) in Sandy Springs is probably your best bet. There was a great group of regulars all of last season and hopefully there will only be more for the '08 season!

A little late, but can always contribute right? Buffalo Wild Wings I would stay away from as the food is horrible and the waitresses all hate the steeler fans. It's ashame most people left Sidelines after the dispute with management there. Whatever, that's the past and I don't know all the details.

As far as steeler bars, yes, there is Buffalo Wild Wing, but try any Sidelines, Barnacles, 3 Dollar Cafe, Mellow Mushroom, or even Old Town Bar and Grill. Much better food and wait staff, and there have always been steeler fans each time I've been to any one of those places.

But agent45 had it right, Charlie Mops is the place to be.

Bit of personal advice though, steer clear of Cobb County. Too many people, too many stupid people, bad roads, horrible County Manager in Hankerson (People think Vernon Jones is bad!?), and just plain boring. Have fun sitting in Barrett Parkway/Cobb Parkway/I-75/I-285 traffic for hours on end. It's amazing how many people can cause major pile ups in stop and go traffic. I used to dispatch Cobb Police and can tell you that if you're looking at moving to the area, go with Vinnings. It's beautiful, lots to do, close enough to Atlanta to make going to the city an easy trip, but close enough to everything north in the county to make live a lot easier. Especially if you plan on working in the county, as you'll be going the opposite way of traffic.

Hey this is a Pittsburgh native living in Atlanta and I am happy to tell you that Charlie Mopp's is the place to be. It's located in Sandy Springs, not far from 400 and 285. We have a great crowd of regulars and I am hoping that the 2008 season will be even bigger. I happen to tend bar at Mopp's and I am so happy that I was able to bring the Steelers to the bar. We have beer specials and a raffle during every half time. It's a great place to cheer on our black and gold and you should def. check it out!

Well, we ended up in NE Atlanta, Alpharetta/Cumming area actually. It's nice here. Close enough to the city without having to deal with the daily traffic issues. Plus I love where I work. Only takes 15 minutes to get there from home. Probably will be staying home to watch most of the games. DirecTV and NFL ticket is safer than trying to dodge the cops after having a beer or twelve watching the game.

Maybe someone can clear this up for me, cos I'm not quite sure I'm following. Charlie Mopps was a GREAT venue for Steelers fans last year and obviously still serving Steelers fans, but listening to 680 the Fan this morning, it sounds like the Cocktail Cove (old American Pie and ex-Browns bar if memory serves) is trying to pull Steelers fans too? They're right next door - right? What gives?

Just wanted to bump this post again since it looks like CBS's late game in Atlanta will be IND/JAC and I'll have to drive to a bar to watch the Steelers game after leaving the Falcons game. What's the deal with Cocktail Cove, and is there a beef with Charlie Mopps?

Nah, there's no real beef between us and them. Charlie Mopps is a Steelers bar because we are Steelers fans. The other place decided to be a Steeler bar this year, after being a Browns bar last year, because they know that there are more Steelers fans around than any other team, so it was a financially based decision. I was actually born in Coraopolis, I doubt they have even heard of it. I will let everyone decide for themselves which place is actually legit.

I am looking at possibly moving to Sandy Springs, so that's awesome to know that there is a place to watch the games near by. Hope I see you guys soon.
