"One defensive player will wear a helmet similar to what the quarterback is allowed on offense. Should that player leave the game, a teammate can be designated to also have the device. But only one defender with the device can be on the field at a time."
I honestly think this is 25% ridiculous and going to be semi-hard to monitor. Please do not ban me from this website for life for saying this... but I agree with Belly-chick in regards to difficulty designating a defensive player who will ultimately need to be in the game 90% of the time.
Sorry if this is discussed elsewhere, I like to be the center of attention

he is just pissed he won't be able to steal signals anymore...guess he will have to fall back on intercepting the radio signals....

Interesting that Bellicheat voted for it. Probably figuring its actually easier to steal radio communication than by marrying their legal videotaping with their illegal videotaping.
I'm for it.
I have to laugh at coaches that make millions think it will be a hard decision to decide who gets the radio. It really shouldn't be that hard.

Why are the owners always trying to meddle with their product? In what way will this make the game any better, funner, or more exciting? I wish they'd quit tampering with all these stupid little things every single year during the annual meeting and just stick to gambling and whores like they did in the 60s and 70s.

I'd say after the blatant cheating that has gone on over the past few years, and in light of the first 16-0 regular season, something needed to happen.
Now there are some issues (and you can search the board for them) are completely ridiculous and a complete total and utter waste of time.
This isn't one of those.

I don't know about that man. I'm not saying radio helmets are trivial to the defenses, But I am saying that allowing the use of them adds no intrinsic value to the game. Also, it just piles on one more thing the refs have to be aware of. Now, not only do they have to watch the game clock, illegal formations, movement, they have to count the number of green dots too. Not a big problem for them, to be sure, but it'll take a bit of time to get right just like all changes.
And furthermore, I fail to see just how this will curb the cheating. Oh sure, it will eliminate the need for stealing signals via videotape. Big deal. A vigilant security guard can do that. That hosehead in NE has already shown he's willing to ignore the rules. What's to stop him from giving everyone on the defense radios and just pulling off the green sticker. Problem solved on his end and he's still got his ill-gotten advantage.
A few years down the road, all the players will have radio helmets. Now they're just testing the water.

I highly doubt that, CAH..
As for it being hard to monitor who has the helmet with the radio in it, it will go the game as on offense. They're going to put the neon green sticker on the back of the helmet.

I've actually already mentioned it may be easier to steal radio signals than videotaping them in this thread.
The NFL is already aware of the Patriots tampering with radio signals, whether it be stealing them or jamming them, so that will already be watched more closely this season.
Also, I'm sure there will be a limit on how many radios are permitted to have. Sure more than 1 defensive player will have a radio in case of substitution or injury, but the league would not permit 20 defensive players to have a radio.
And even if they did allow that many radios for defensive players, I'm sure the sticker isn't just a regular sticker that is easy to peel off. Have you ever tried to pull off a decal off a helmet? Not easy.

If he can find a scanner to pick up encrypted signals tell him to let me know where to find one, cause they don't exist as of yet.

I would think our choices would be Troy or Farrior

I'm guessing it will be Farrior.

I like this. Technology is always changing and no reason why the NFL can't keep up with technology. Also who really cares what Belicheat has to say.

I think it benefits the Steelers in the long run because it will be easier to transition Farrior out of the lineup when his time has finally come.
If Timmons is slated to play RILB, I don't think he's the kind of mental giant I want in charge of defensive calls, so it's probably going to have to come down to our LILB, whoever that ends up being. Note I don't think Polamalu is that type of player either (although not because he's not smart, he is). It could go to Clark if he's back 100% some day, but I'm still hoping that's Anthony Smith's spot soon.

if harrison moves inside, he might get it. ike and clark (if hes healthy) could be candidates.
