Do you like the new rule that a Defensive player now gets a radio in his helmet?

I think this one is up for grabs. I worry that even with the technology these days that frequencies will get scrambled and they may have some problems.
You all know Bellicheat is licking his chops though.
Lets keep it fair on both sides of the ball.

Itt should've been implemented the year after they saw that it worked for the offense. It's long over due. (But then again, they never would've caught Belicheck cheating at the Jets game this year if it was)

IMO this is great. No reason why the NFL can't keep up with technology. It's only fair the defense gets to take advantage of the radio communication just like the offense.

I don't like anyone having radios, but I'm Old School......... I think the game was better when the plays were called on the field.
Since the vote passed, who do you guys feel should have the radio installed in their helmets? the defensive captain or the strong safety who usually commands position placement on the field according to the offensive alignment?

I agree with this. I would prefer the radios be taken out of the helmets, but if the QB and WR's are allowed to have them, then defense should be allowed to have them too.

Yup. No radios for anyone. Not the coaches, coordinators, player, nobody.
If they are going to have radios then EVERYONE should have them.

WR's have them? I didn't know that. I remember the cryboys bitching about Kordell (a QB/WR at the time) having a radio in his helmet during SBXXX. When did they start allowing WRs to have radios?

There's only one radio allowed on Offense (and now Defense.) That's what the "green dot" is all about--specify the helmet with the radio.

WR/QB's are/were allowed to have them. Randle El had one when he was here

I think it's funny that Billicheat voted for the D radio.....what a Poser!

Yep, it's 2008. No need to draw up the plays in dirt anymore (or "slop" if it's Heinz Field).

Does it pick up the Sirius network?

Belicheat has his crew working on ways to pick up opposing team's signals. You can never again trust anything that organization does as long as Kraft and BB are in charge. The NFL should hire an independent firm to watch their every move.

Not in favor of using radio signals in any players helmet either........
But with the new rule, it levels out the playing field....kindof sortof.....

If they are worried about the integrity of the game why do they allow Belicheat to continue coaching? The double standard of Godell's tenure is going to begin to hurt the NFL. Why is Rooney allowing it? I'm beginning to not like the Gentleman's Club the NFL has become. They "Think" the game is intact but really teams like the Patriots that are caught cheating are hurting it instead.
I'm like the "Old School" guys - no radio in play. Call the plays in the huddle - from the sideline or by a talented QB. I'm sick to death of QB's with wrist band playbooks. Don't they have brains?
The addition of a radio receiver on the Defense is bringing the game down a level. I can NOT believe that the league dealt with the Patriot's cheating by giving another device for them to cheat with. This clearly should have been left alone.
If I'm wrong, so be it, but I don't see this latest addition to be progress. Sorry.

Want to make it fair for both sides..just get rid of helmet radios altogether.
Never did really like the idea, and I like it even less now.

I wonder how Bradshaw and Montana managed to win without wristbands and radios.

No wristbands, no radios --- NO problems!!!
Then the NFL could focus on finding the fellows w/ the video cam's on the sidelines and in the stands...
But like some of the gang...I'm Ol' Skool....

I'm for it. I like the idea. I don't think it matters who has it as long as there is only one.
I can't buy the old school thing.....leather helmets? Things change....

let em have em on D too so that way atleast it will lessen the chances of delay of game and like penalties 12 man on field?

I wasn't around in the golden age of the 60s, but I'm gonna take a wild guess that playbooks, audibles, hotroutes, etc are alot more extensive compared to 30-40 years ago.

Are you crazy? That's dangerous as hell. Someone may trip and fall; potentially resulting in some kind of injury. We have to protect the QB.

I really like that the defense is now able to radio in their plays as well. This will eliminate signal stealing, but it is only a matter of time before Bill BelliCHEAT is busted for wire tapping.

Somebody is going to get their signals crossed during a game.
James Farrior: Okay fellas hundle up here comes the play.
Coach LeBeau /walkie-talkie: Okay Farrior here's the play....buzzzzzz....Welcome to Wendy's drive thru may I help you?
James Farrior: What the hell? Hey Coach repeat that again.
Coach LeBeau /walkie-talkie: I said James......buzzzzz.....that I want pickles on my double with no onions, okay?

Who gets our radio?
Why not give every player and coach a radio? They could have a chat line.

It's the 21st century. I'm sure people liked it a lot better when they weren't accessible 24/7, but they invented these things called "Blackberries".

albiet, the steelers didnt have them in their first game that season. or it didnt appear they did. if i remember correctly, odonnel got sacked by charles haley on like 3 straight plays. you'd think if they had a radio, cowher woulda told neil to get the f&%k outta the way after getting his clock cleaned the two previous. but, nevertheless the radios in the helmet came at the start of 1994.

Since they're never going to remove the offensive headsets I like them giving the defense the same coutresy.
However, I echo the no radio statements and would like to see the return of a penalty called Coaching from the Sidelines.
Just give 'em the game plan. Let them execute.
