Can someone list who we drafted in 2005, and then we can all talk about weather or not that draft was a sucess or not. We can even give it a letter grade, much like the sports writers like to do.

NFL Team: Pittsburgh Steelers
RD PK(OVR) NAME POS SCHOOL
1 30(30) Heath Miller TE VIRGINIA
The Steelers had been hoping Miller would last this long, and thanks in part to a lingering hernia injury that kept him from working out for NFL teams, Pittsburgh got its wish. Miller is a crisp route-runner who catches anything thrown in his area. He runs with good power and is surprisingly productive after the catch.

2 30(62) Bryant McFadden CB FLORIDA STATE
Pittsburgh has done an excellent job of filling two if its top three needs thus far. McFadden is a Bill Cowher-type corner who excels in run support.
Complete analysis

4 30(131) Fred Gibson WR GEORGIA
5 30(166) Rian Wallace ILB TEMPLE

Totally agree. They could have done just as well drawing names out of a hat. Very disappointing draft IMHO.

I think its better than that. While McFadden hasn't lived up to his total potential yet hes a long way away from Alonzo Jackson, or Scott Shields. McFadden has shown flashes of being great and he has been good as our nickel back. People are pissed that he hasn't been able to beat out Deshea but Deshea's play hasn't really dropped off.

I think the jury is still out on Chris Kemoeatu. He might not be Alan Faneca, but I think he is going to be just as good as Kendell Simmons (I know.. not saying much).

Fred Gibson was a total miss, Rian Wallace contributed some in his time here, but we were so deep at MLB that he wasn't going to get a shot anyway. Noah Herron had potential and he played well in relief duty for GB.

I'd give the draft a C+, certainly not the best or a good draft, but its better than some we've had in the last 6 years or so.

Not a great draft, but Miller was definitely a great pick. McFadden has been disappointing, but is still a good player. Kemo and Essex have at least provided some spot starts and decent depth. C+, but that would bump up if Kemo can start this year and perform well.

C+...B-Mac, Kemo, and Heath are the only people in that class to contribute...stfan81 is right about wallace, foote and farrior made it impossible for him to get defensive pt, but he would have been someone worth keeping around for ST...Heath is such a good player (Pro Bowl level in my opinion, just never gets enough looks), and B-Mac and Kemo have enough potential to put this class in B- range, but the late choices were crap and that's why a high C

C/C- is a fair grade.

Miller is a player. I thought McFadden would be better. Decent depth after that. I may go as high as C because Miller is that friggin good.
