Chris Henry has reportedly told police this is a case of mistaken identity.

You know..I have been thinking...

what would he look like in the black-n-gold?

it would be mostly gold, but more likely orange...and the black would be a small group of letters and numbers on his chest...he will never play another down...commish will make an example out of him for the beer bottle incident, and it's unfortunate to watch a talented WVU guy throw his career away like this...

Bengals release Henry

The Bengals today waived WR Chris Henry.

Bengals president Mike Brown issued the following statement:

"Chris Henry has forfeited his opportunity to pursue a career with the Bengals. His conduct can no longer be tolerated.

"The Bengals tried for an extended period of time to support Chris and his potentially bright career. We had hoped to guide him toward an appropriate standard of personal responsibility that this community would support and that would allow him to play in the NFL. We acknowledge those fans who had concerns about Chris; at the same time we tried to help a young man.

"But those efforts end today, as we move on with what is best for our team."

Personally, I don't like Chris Henry and I know the Steelers would never sign him do to his personality issues. I honestly think He would be a great fit for our offense. At 6-4 or 6-5 he would give Big Ben the tall WR that he has requested. He is young, talented and speedy, But he is also a MORON. This guy has a golden opportunity to do something very special with his life and he is going to throw it away. Personally I think that Henry needs to get slapped in his face and put in his place. I personally would take a chance on him, make him hang around Hines Ward so he can learn a thing or 2 about class.

More "good" news coming out of Cinci:

http://www.wlwt.com/news/15778442/detail.html

"Meanwhile, News 5 has learned of an incident at BANG Nightclub last week.

The club released a statement on Thursday that said, "On March 30 around 1 a.m., there were incidents involving members of the Cincinnati Bengals Football team at BANG Nightclub. Chris Henry, Chris Perry and Domata Peko were escorted out by police at the close of the club. Charges have not been filed, pending the settlement of punitive damages."

I can't remember if it was you or Beaker who said Chad Johnson was "harmless" and Henry was just young and grow up. Please clarify for me.

Not me. I used to say CJ was more comical than a cancer....now Ive changed my mind. He's not only cancer, he's just a whiney dick. Ive always maintained Henry was an asstoot.

Any private thoughts the Bengirls might have had about dealing Chad Johnson just totally evaporated.

They've steadily maintained they won't cave to his request to be traded, but I bet most of us thought he might be dealt if they got an offer from Tom Hagen.

No way could they justify that now...

I still think the Bengals should deal CJ. He needs gone. Deal CJ, get a DL or a WR and some draft picks and take the draft from there.

I will say this. Even when I shot back at you guys about your legal troubles now coming up, I never defended the Bengals legal BS. It has always embarrassed me. I'll wager that Goodell doesnt ban Henry....the Partriots will pick him up and he will be immediately reinstated at the request of Lord Brady.

You're no candidate for citizen of the year, either am I. Lord knows I have seen some folks hit serious rock bottom and this guy could be an altar boy compared to some of those folks. You know it's bad when you have known people who pawned grandma's wedding ring and took from friends to buy a rock or two or a bag here and there.

I guess I am not one to revel in another person's woes as there's probably a bunch of people right here who are just one fuck up away from being in a similar situation...out of work.

Hopefully, the guy can recover from this huge life set back and move on.

I hope the best for the guy and hope his life turns out, but this kid has been given opportunities that ordinary people only dream of and he keeps pissing them away.

If he is too fucking dumb to realize the chances he had and continued in his behavior, he is ABSOLUTELY getting what he deserves.

You can only help people that want to help themselves. He obviously does not want help.

Only these two? Try the 3 of them who got busted with a ton of tree last month (one a 'Burgh native from what I remember)...Try Noel Devine and the trouble he's been in lately...WVU, like other BE football schools, takes on thugs year in and year out...

LT? The NFL culture was completely different then with a much different commissioner. You think he will play this season after the laundry list he's put together and now this on top of it? Assault with a beer bottle, hitting some KID in the face. This is a one season suspension jerk-off. <!-- end page tools --><!-- begin story body --><!-- template inline -->MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia running back Noel Devine (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=238902) was among four Mountaineers' football players to plead no contest to misdemeanor battery charges after being arrested Thursday.
Also arrested were defensive back Eain Smith, 19; cornerback Brantwon Bowser, 20; and running back/receiver Jockee Sanders, 19, the Morgantown Police Department said in a news release.

Noel Devine, who ran for 108 yards and two touchdowns in the Fiesta Bowl, was among four Mountaineer players arrested on Thursday.

Each player pleaded no contest in Morgantown Municipal Court, the police department said.
It was not immediately known whether the municipal court assessed any penalties against the players. A telephone message left Thursday night with the municipal court was not immediately returned.
Police said the charges stemmed from an altercation outside Club Z in Morgantown on Feb. 16 but did not provide details.
"Discipline with the situation has already been handled within the program," WVU football coach Bill Stewart said through a spokesman. He said he would have no further comment.
Last month, Stewart dismissed three other players charged with felony possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver.
West Virginia begins spring practice Friday.
Devine, a 20-year-old freshman, capped a stellar first season with West Virginia by running for 108 yards and two touchdowns in a 48-28 victory over Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl.

The fact that Derbyboy is in Louisville pretty much tells you where he comes from on anything related to WVU. Being a teams bitch for a few years can do that to you. Nevermind the 150+ yards Devine is going to hang on them this year.

From the article above it sounds like the typical stupid shit college kids get into. I would guess most people who live in a college town can tell you it isn't all that difficult to get caught up in a scuffle with a moron even if you aren't intersted in fighting. According to the article they were disciplined and he has already cut a couple kids for making the program look bad. Something Rodriguez didn't do much of. If the kid doesn't get into anymore trouble then it's just a fluke. If it happens again they need to suspend him from the team. By the way, there are no less drugs out there now than there were when LT played. Nice try though.

As for Henry, he's had every opportunity to get his act together. He just isn't capable of doing it.

I hope the best for the guy and hope his life turns out, but this kid has been given opportunities that ordinary people only dream of and he keeps pissing them away.

If he is too ing dumb to realize the chances he had and continued in his behavior, he is ABSOLUTELY getting what he deserves.

You can only help people that want to help themselves. He obviously does not want help.

Very good point TMC. While it should have been done awhile ago kudos to the Bungles for finally waiving him. Goodell needs to ban him for good now. Henry had plenty of opportunities, but does not seem to want help.

I'm stuck in Cincitucky until Sunday. They showed his mom coming out of the police station on the local news covering her face when she found out he had to stay in jail last night. Evidently he abandoned the house here in Florence where he was living a few weeks ago. He left a couple cars and a bunch of other stuff. The man has learning isues.

What makes this even better is, henry had to spend an extra nite in jail because no one was available to fit him with his court-ordered monitoring device to report his location while under house arrest.

How do you keep someone from earning a living? This isn't the Boy Scouts of America...you can't open up the paper anymore without someone in the league getting busted for something.

Henry is in a heap of shit...I don't even think he earned his degree so he has nothing to fall back on, unless he saved some cash. If he's out of football for good, he'll end up on a coroner's table within a year. But, like many of you said and are correct, he brought all of it on himself.

The common denominator in this kid's legal woes seems to be booze. I'm no expert but they say alcoholism is a progressive disease and people get worse and worse until they hit bottom. Some people have high bottoms, some have low bottoms like Henry. Kind of unfortunate that he didn't get the real help he needed.

Glad he wasn't a Steeler.

The fact that Derbyboy is in Louisville pretty much tells you where he comes from on anything related to WVU. Being a teams bitch for a few years can do that to you. Nevermind the 150+ yards Devine is going to hang on them this year.
Series Record vs. Louisville Cardinals

weak. i never suggested that louisville didn't have their fair share of embarrassing conduct this year...i am actually a wvu supporter, and i find myself rooting for pitt as well - when they are not playing louisville - i have many friends at wvu and morgantown is a great college town...been to marvin's mountain top for allgood festival two years ago, great time. it wasnt my intention to criticize, whatsoever.

btw...how about getting BLACKED OUT!?!?!

All these "bad behavior" clowns should get kicked out of the league. All that talent and cash makes for a jerk off sometimes. Maybe the "commish" will reach down and grab his pair and start restoring some credibility to how NFL players are supposed to act off the field. If for any other reason young players still in college or high school.

I'm sure they have guidelines. I'd love to see them.

He's doing a lot more to deal with player conduct than Rozelle ever did. Henry won't be playing this year if this thing sees a court room.

i think it's privately owned land...actually a little outside of morgantown, but i stayed with friends in town the night before i went up there...they do music festivals up there a couple times a year, the Allgood Festival likely the most well-known. lots of hippies, but i've never had a problem when that was the case :)

Is there a bigger fuck-up in the NFL than Chris Henry? This asshole gets chance after chance & he still doesn't get it. He watches his buddy PacMan go down in flames & he still doesn't get it.

How fucking stupid can a human being get.

I'm sure the CFL will allow him to play if he does get banned or suspended

Pretty sure the CFL has an agreement with the NFL not to sign suspended players. Didn't that happen right after Ricky Williams went to the CFL after he was suspended for getting caught rockin' the cheeba.

so did the cfl change the rule, b/c rickey signed with Toronto 2 months after he was suspended.
Since then I would imagine they changed signing rules ,perhaps when we was signed the nfl office was pissed, as the signing showed the loophole for suspended players

Right along with Pacman and Tank.

Dallas is becoming the place for all the thug/convict refugees.
