Just saw it on yahoo sports. He's done and finished, but I'd expect someone to give him some stupidly big contract.

Paging Johnathan Stewart to the Seahawks draft room.

Heard this on Fox Sports on the way home from work. Wonder who will pick him up? They were guessing Carolina might.

With the signing of Jones and Duckett, this was a sure thing.

Someone will give him a shot.

He'd look good in orange and brown.

For the sake of making the Walrus look bad, I think it would be great to see him have a bounce back year on another team. Hopefully for one I don't hate.

I only saw a handful of Seachicken games the past 2 years but I distinctly remember watching Alexander doing everything he could to avoid contact. I saw him just fall to the ground in one game to keep from being hit. Saying he is "soft" is an understatement. This guy makes toilet tissue look like armor plated steel.

I'd take him over Davenport any day. It will not be soon enough when he is released from the steelers.

I agree. The Seahawks offensive line hasn't been the same since Hutchinson left - fucking Vikings.

this was going to happen sooner or later...expect the broncos, jets, raiders, and maybe san diego to offer him something.

He's exhibit A on what happens to a good running back when his line goes to shit.

Alexander can run into a pile and not move it just as well as Najeh can.....only Najeh will do it cheaper.

Wow. Just wow. You could see it coming but he's fallen a long long way. All those Seahag fans will need to find a new shirt to buy.

Say what you want about Alexander but he bowed out from Seattle with class:

Even through his inglorious end in Seattle, Alexander kept the appearance that all was just fine -- that this, too, didn't matter much in the larger context of his life.

"I want to thank the Seahawks and Holmgren for all they have done for me and my family over the years," Alexander said. "I have nothing but respect and affection for the Seahawks staff, my teammates and the organization. I wish them the best."

Then he fawned over the same fans who last season cheered as he jogged off the home field while getting replaced.

"I especially want to thank the Seahawks fans," he said. "You made me feel proud every time I stepped on the field as a member of the Seahawks. I look forward to hopefully returning to Qwest Field one day to play against the Seahawks.

"We have made far too many wonderful friends to say goodbye. My family will remain in the Seattle area, and when my days in the NFL do eventually come to an end, I plan to retire here. Our hearts are woven into the fabric of this community, we are blessed to be part of it, and we enjoy contributing to it in every way we can."

"Thank you Seattle."

I am surprised it took this long to cut Alexander. I can't wait to see who picks him up and if they will pay crazy money to sign him.

He's also been injured. I would expect him to put up decent numbers this year for whomever signs him.

Just a gentle reminder, folks - he "could be" the big back that JB was for us...Yes, he does have some toughness issues; but they can be corrected.

I'd go back and take a good look at his career at Bama and Seattle; before we, er, ah, "throw him under the Bus"...LOL

I'm ducking now...

Sorry guys, we're biased to hate the Seahawks, but the fact is he's a productive back that ran with one arm last season. He played hurt for most of the season, and that says a lot about his toughness. Besides if it wasn't for him being completely uneffective in SB XL, we wouldn't have a ring. So lets all thank Shawn for all he's done for Steeler Nation.

I saw him speak at a church in Alabama when he was about to graduate from the University of Alabama. He was so humble and such a class act then. I had respect for him (even if he played college ball for my enemy). Fast forward to Seattle...he gets paid big and the focus went from the team to HIM. Such a stark contrast to the guy we had seen only a few years before.

I don't like the guy- could care less where he goes.

I'm pretty sure Miami would love to have him there. Parcels hasn't been a fan of Ricky Williams.

don't care for the guy...but i'd love to see him go to arizona and run all over seattle two times this year...

I think they're happy with Ronnie Brown.

Philly runs a very similar offense as does Seattle, he wouldn't take a pounding in Philly with their offense and splitting time with Westbrook.
