Dolphins | Team looking to trade Taylor
Wed, 23 Apr 2008 09:49:35 -0700
Clark Judge, of CBSSports.com, reports the Miami Dolphins (http://www.kffl.com/team/22/nfl) are looking to trade LB Jason Taylor (http://www.kffl.com/player/1020/nfl). Two teams confirmed Tuesday, April 22, that the Dolphins (http://www.kffl.com/team/22/nfl) are looking for a mid-to-low first-round draft pick in return for Taylor.

a first round pick??? Hell no.

A team would be just plain stupid if they gave up a 1st rounder for Jason Taylor. Very good player, but at this point in his career not even close to being worth a 1st rounder. Good luck with that Dolphins.

Now if they traded their first pick in the second rd and Taylor for our 1.23, that might work.....

I'd consider a 3rd rounder, just cause I think that Taylor can still be a force for the next 3-4 years. No chance of a first rounder, a team would be silly to give that up.

What is this reverse day? We send aging defensive players with too big a price tag to Miami.

Or Washington, either way he's sure to garner some interest. Just don't think he's worth a #1.

They were willing to give 1 and possibly 2 for ocho cinco. They are dying to make a trade, it could happen.

He's a 4-3 DE, old and makes too much money.

Too small for a 3-4 DE. Too slow for an OLB. Too old for a 1st round pick.

I wouldn't even give them the 1st pick (of my nose) for Jason Taylor. He is worth no more than a 4th rd. pick at best, but some moronic GM will most likely pull the trigger on that trade.

He's had 35 sacks over the last three years. By some of the comments I've read on here you'd think the guy was a bust.

I might trade a used milk carton for him, that's about all he is worth IMO.

I'd trade a late round pick (who will probably get cut anyways) if he didn't cost so much. I'd have no problem plugging him in at OLB. But since that isn't going to happen...

It's more the fact that he'll be 34 and has a big price tag and costing you a first rounder. If the Fins ate his contract or just wanted a 5th rounder, maybe. but neither of those would ever happen.

He's a penalty machine now that he's getting older and slower. Trying to jump snaps. He gives up more free yards in penalties than he takes away in sacks. 11 penalties last year for 85 yards. 11 sacks for 63 yards lost.

4th rounder nothing higher, would add vet depth, plus give us a versatile guy who we could some some 4-3

Could put him & Woodley at the ends Smith & a rook (Bryant/Okam/Moore) at the 3 gap and ur lb's can be harrison farrior timmons.

Not outta gas but perhapas a year or 2 left in ?Jason's tank about the same Farrior has probebly left.

He's still free----no more love----not even if he brings us a dozen sacks?

I doubt a Silverback/Keisel year could do that.

Now now....that's not fair. Taylor is in the twilight of his career, but he's not a trouble making loser.

Just curious. Say that, at best, Taylor had 3-4 good years left in him and he'd sign for the little the Steelers have under the cap. What position would he play? Most likely he would be an OLB in a 3-4 scheme. So who would he bump, the probowler on the one side or the very promising young second year player on the other? Never happen, they don't have a spot for him.

I'd have no issues putting Woodley and Taylor out there. I don't think Taylor wants to play another 3-4 years. He seems like he's getting ready to give Hollywood a try.

Asking price is to high. Besides we are already 30+ along the d line. If anything we should be looking to move a veteran for a pick in 09. Lets hope the rookies or 2nd year players allow that option to come into play.

While Taylor can still play we don't need another 30+ player on the DL.

Not that he'll ever be in Pittsburgh, but he'd be an OLB for us and he'd be better than any OLB that is currently on the roster.

he would'nt be aDL if he were to come here, 255 just to light, 275 has been the minumum wieght we have played DE.

they are just asking to much, he's worth no more than rnd 3 pick in my mind.

Let someone mortgage a piece of of thier future not us.

I'm not too high on Taylor. Mainly because he's become a penalty machine. Sure he had 11 sacks for -63 yards lost last year. But he also had 11 penalties for 85 free yards for the opponent. So really what's the point if he gives away more real estate than he takes. Taylor lead all DL in both penalties and penalty yards. For context, Haynesworth was 2nd with 10 penalties for 65 yards, and Kris Jenkins was 3rd with 9 penalties for just 49 yards. Broadening it to front 7 players, OLB Calvin Pace (also way overrated) gave Taylor a run with 9 penalties for 90 yards. And Suggs chipped in 9 for 59yds.

we are gonna have to cut people and do restructures with people like max starks before we can even think of signing the rookies, let alone bringing in anyone for above league vet min right now. he would be an amazing steeler playing in keisel's spot and rovering all over that side, helping the team hybrid between 3-4 and 4-3 formations, but it's all too good to be true. as a hometown guy, i wish him the best and have always liked the dude's style on the field. hopefully he can go somewhere besides the cheatriots and retire on a good note.

Dolphins | Team not happy with Taylor trade offers
Sat, 24 May 2008 08:09:23 -0700
Jeff Darlington, of the Miami Herald, reports the Miami Dolphins (http://www.kffl.com/team/22/nfl) have not received any trade offers better than a fourth-round draft pick for LB Jason Taylor (http://www.kffl.com/player/1020/nfl), which is not enough for the team to pull the trigger on a deal.
