Todd McShay is the guy putting it out.....here are the Steelers selections:
23. Pittsburgh Steelers -- Jonathan Stewart, RB, Oregon
Record: 10-6 | Needs: DE (3-4), OT, WR, G, FS
Stewart's stock has rebounded since turf toe surgery in March, and with Willie Parker coming off a broken fibula, Stewart is too good of a value to pass up here.
53. Pittsburgh Steelers Jason Jones DE Eastern Michigan
88. Pittsburgh Steelers Mike Pollak C Arizona State
123. Pittsburgh Steelers Paul Hubbard WR Wisconsin
156. Pittsburgh Steelers DJ Wolfe S Oklahoma
188. Pittsburgh Steelers Antwaun Molden CB Eastern Kentucky
Now that I have posted it, I HAVE to state that there are some picks that I absolutely hate. I can live with Stewart in the first if that is how it falls. I like Pollack in the 3rd and can live with Molden in the 6th.....but Jones in the 2nd? Hubbard in the 4th? Wolfe in the 5th? Bullshit.
There is NO way that Jones goes in the 2nd and IF he does, it better not be to us with Calais Campbell, Avril, Bryant, Collins, Nicks, and Zuttah sitting there. You cannot tell me that Jones is a better prospect than those guys. Not fucking buying that one.
So, I would definitely change three picks and I would go with:
23. Jonathan Stewart, RB, Oregon
53. Cliff Avril, OLB, Purdue
88. Mike Pollak, C, Arizona State
123. Tony Hills, OT, Texas-have not talked about him much, but he is a LT that played through injuries his senior year. He is not a mauler, more of a zone blocker, but he is the type of guy that has the tools to develop.
156. Orlando Scandrick, CB, Boise State-while I do not have a problem with Molden, Scandrick is a better prospect at this point. Both would not be bad, but I digress.
188. Steve Johnson, WR, Kentucky or Mario Urrutia, WR, Louisville. Either would be fine. I would also consider Owen Schmitt and some others.

I'm going postal if thats out draft.
Also, since this is here, I actually put together a first round mock yesterday, so I might as well post it. I did a 7-rounder about a month ago, but never posted it. I just wanted to see how things would fall....but since these mock contests are coming up I needed a basis to go by....anyway, here is it......
1 Dolphins Jake Long T Michigan
2 Rams Chris Long DE Virginia
3 Falcons Glenn Dorsey DT LSU
4 Raiders Darren McFadden RB Arkansas
5 Ravens Matt Ryan QB Boston College TRADE: Ravens trade the #8 and #38 for Chiefs #5 and #105.
6 Jets Vernon Gholston DE Ohio State
7 Saints Sedric Ellis DT Southern California TRADE: Saints give #10 and #78 for Pats #7.
8 Chiefs Branden Albert G Virginia
9 Bengals Keith Rivers OLB Southern California
10 Patriots Leodis McKelvin CB Troy
11 Eagles Chris Williams T Vanderbilt TRADE: Eagles trade #19 and Lito Sheppard for the Bills #11 pick.
12 Lions Derrick Harvey DE Florida TRADE: Lions trade #15 and #87 for Broncos #12.
13 Panthers Rashard Mendenhall RB Illinois
14 Bears Jeff Otah T Pittsburgh
15 Broncos Kentwan Balmer DT North Carolina
16 Cardinals Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie CB Tennessee State
17 Chiefs Phillip Merling DE Clemson TRADE: The Vikings get Jared Allen and the Chiefs get #17 and a 3rd.
18 Texans Jonathan Stewart RB Oregon
19 Bills Devin Thomas WR Michigan State
20 Bucs Mike Jenkins CB South Florida
21 Redskins Limas Sweed WR Texas
22 Cowboys Aqib Talib CB Kansas
23 Steelers Ryan Clady T Boise State
24 Falcons Brian Brohm QB Louisville TRADE: Atlanta makes the move up giving up #37 and #68.
25 Seahawks Kenny Phillips FS Miami
26 Jaguars Jerod Mayo OLB Tennessee
27 Chargers Gosder Cherilus T Boston College
28 Cowboys DeSean Jackson WR California
29 49ers Calais Campbell DE Miami
30 Packers Antoine Cason CB Arizona
31 Giants Tyrell Johnson FS Arkansas State
Now, I have to state, I did this BEFORE Allen was a Viking, so that should state 2-3rds. In the Scouts, Inc mock, they have the Bears taking Clady over Otah and then KC takes Otah. Well, I think the Bears want a mauler more than a finesse guy and Otah is that mauler. I think they would take Otah over Clady and I also feel that the Chiefs do not see Clady as being a fit for them either (if he was the guy, they would take him earlier-and I have them taking Albert anyway). So, that is why I think Clady slides. I continue to see where teams are turned off by his attitude. The word is he seems to be dis-interested in playing, somewhat uncaring. That is why I have him sliding.
But, since I bring everyone else's here to get torn apart, enjoy ripping mine up.

I can definitely live with Clady sliding to us. He will be great for years and can play on the left side. I can also live with Scandrick over Molden, Two BSU players, those boys know how to win. Scandrick had a great combine and had a faster 40 than Rodgers-Cromartie

I just wish I knew what they were talking about when they say Clady seems disinterested. When the season ended I thought the theme for this draft should be getting guys that love to play the sport. If he doesn't have a passion for the game I don't want him, and that goes for anyone.

HELL YEAH, Spike!
This site even breaks down who is doing the draft.
If it's a professional site, a "fantasy" mock, someone's personal mock, etc.
I recommend of all the one's on this site, East Coast Sports.

I use the mock draft sites resources alot, right after we take a pick, I run over and see what we got.
That's what they're good for.
I just wish I knew what they were talking about when they say Clady seems disinterested. When the season ended I thought the theme for this draft should be getting guys that love to play the sport. If he doesn't have a passion for the game I don't want him, and that goes for anyone.
From what I am hearing, he comes into the meetings and interviews and seems to lack passion for the game. He gives the feel that he just wants to get paid. It has been stated he comes off as immature and will need to be managed. Add that to the massive 13 he scored on the Wonderlic, and teams have questions.
I also saw where some teams may have Cherilus as the 3rd rated tackle on their boards. It is thought he is rising and Williams/Otah/Clady are sliding (depending on the team).
We may not even have a shot at Cherilus.
I just found a quote.....
"Several team executives who have met with Clady have been turned off by what they described as “a lack of passion” and immaturity. The Chiefs, who typically send a contingent of executives to the pro days of the prospects they like, simply sent an area scout to evaluate Clady."
Here are some other tidbits....
Dan Pompei: "6. Ryan Clady, Boise State
Some teams have him ranked behind Long, and he could be a top-10 pick. This is based mostly on Clady's unusual measurables (he's 6-6 with 363/4-inch arms) and athleticism (31-inch vertical jump, a 9-foot long jump and 7.07 three-cone drill). The potential is great. But he also has a bust factor. The junior scored only 13 on the Wonderlic and his technique is substandard. A former defensive lineman, Clady is not a powerful run-blocker. He is overrated."
He has him as the 6th best rated OT, behind Baker but ahead of Cherilus.
"* The Chiefs are now leaning heavily toward taking Branden Albert with pick #5. The thinking is that they can try him at one of the OT spots. If that fails, put him in at OG.
* Ryan Clady has not interviewed very well. He's come across as immature and even a jerk. Don't be shocked to see him slide a bit.
* Gosder Cherilus isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. Teams that do complicated things with their linemen may not be very intersted in him. "-Scout's Notebook contributor

Mr. Clady 's Interests
Music I like to listen to all kind of rap and hip hop, But I have also find a new love for R&;B. For example john legend, is the shit, but u guys don't know nothing about that. Nas, T.I, ludacris, slim thug, lil jon, afroman, young gunz.kanye west.
Movies I like movies that keep u on the edge of your seat, or are pretty funny Television Sports center is the greatest television show ever. There is no doubt about it.BET is the shit, but at the time I'm in Boise, and they don't have it on the basic cable.CSI is also the shit to me.
Books my favorite mag is "Sporting New". I love sports so that would be a good fit for me.
Heroes my hero would have to be my dad, because of all of the things he has been though. He a great guy, and he is all whys there for me.
IMO, that is why he slides. The thing is, he could be a shutdown LT if he plays to his potential.

Other than Long & Williams, who won't be there when we draft, I don't like any other OT enough for our first round pick. Which once again brings me around to Hardy.

If the choice is Stewart, Cherilus, Balmer, or hell even Clady if TMC is right, I just bite the bullet and take Sam Baker a few picks too early. Cherilus, Balmer and Clady are all no's for me because of work ethic/consistency/desire/football intelligence issues they all shown and everyone points out they have. Stewart because I think taking a RB in the first round (a position where great and good starters are found in every round or as rookie FA's) is and incredibly poor move considering our holes elsewhere. Especially considering we have one of the 5 best in the league there and don't have any holes in the backup RB position. If we're going to take a guy who projects as a 3-4 year backup for a pro bowler why can't we do it at one of the other places we need depth more? The only two worse positional picks the Steelers could make in the first round are at QB and TE. Maybe only QB.
Plus I just think Baker is going to flat out be better at tackle than both Cherilus and Clady. If we have to take him at 23 instead of at the top of 2, it's not an optimal solution, but it's better than hoping one of the other guys finally develops a desire to play well, football intelligence, or a guy who might not even dress because the guy in front of him is leading the league in rushing again and we have better 3rd down options than him.

Maybe he is taking into consideration that Colbert will be making the picks.......
Those have been major needs for several seasons now and yet they have been ignored.
The Steelers need to forget about Clady. We certainly don't need another Jermain Stephens.
I really do not have an issue with the selection of Stewart if he is the BPA at the time. Our backup RBs are shaky at best. Davenport is not the guy you want to turn to if Parker goes down and Mewelde Moore hardly played the last 2 seasons. Russell and Carey are pretty unproven.
So, if given a chance to draft a guy that can touch the football 125 times a season, I do it. Hell, we draft WRs in the first and Ward has never caught 125 passes in a season. IMO, having 2 RBs to carry the load is like having 2-3 WRs. It is almost a must.
