Bryant or Moore. we need a young DL, and they won't dare cut a 3rd rounder in favor of Kirshkeason(the 2 headed DL backup suck).

DeMario Pressley for sure is on my wish list... I'd like 2 OL... a RT and a G... a CB... and a LB

McGlynn, Greco, Nicks, Schuening, etc...

Dan Conner still out there? I'd take him in the 3rd.
Other than that, I want a Right OT and two DL's.

Nice list of players there. From that list, in the third I'd target Connor and Avril and the fourth Zuttah, Bryant and Langford.

Theres still alot of talent left going into the 3rd round. Alot of interior lineman as listed and a guy like Clint Avril or Dan Connor would be awesome at LB. At this point I'd be alright with taking Justin King as an experiment, Tomlin seems high on him so give him a try. Moore and Bryant are still on the board aswell.
Alot of talent that the Steelers have brought in for visits is still here. Were gearing up to have a great draft.

Red Bryant, Zuttah and Scheuning would go a long way to addressing some serious problems of depth and talent we have on both lines. Maybe McGlynn, I still thought that Pitt line stunk of ass. Owen Schmitt might be nice later on if Kreider is done (we also get to dump Davis if that happens as well). I think Dan Conner will be a good pro, wouldn't mind seeing him at ILB. Frank Okam. Radovich and Spanos from USC.
I also hope someone take Justin King so there is no temptation for us to do so.
Pollack however is already gone.

Oniel Cousins, Red Bryant, Cliff Avril, Kendall Langford, Chevis Jackson, Jack Ikegwuonu, there's a ton of talent still out there to be had.
LetMePlay
04-26-2008, 10:30 PM
99. Andre Woodson QB Kentucky
You know if he is sitting around late.....I would take him. He needs time but will make a nice NFL backup at some point.
Thorndike
04-26-2008, 10:32 PM
Wheatley is gone.
Avril has to be high on the list along with Justin King. King will need work...but you can't coach a guy to run a legit 4.25.
Pressley or Moore for the DL.
Scheuning or Young at OG.

Carl Nicks and Josh Barrett can be added to that list.

We have 4 picks left, and I don't we will draft a QB, RB, WR, TE, K or P. I see 1 OL, 1 DL, 1 LB and 1 DB.

Considering Colbert and Co's horrible track record with picks 4-7, I'd trade them all if necessary to move up to get the best OLineman in the 3rd.

OL: Scheuning, Nicks, Zuttah, Barton
DL - Bryant, Langford, Okam
DB - Scandrick, Wilhite
LB - Connor, Avril, Goff
Any of that list would be great. Any other positions drafted would be silly.

Can't keep taking the best player available if they don't fill your needs. The two today were good because they were high value, but the OL needs some help badly; which cannot be neglected on day 2.

If we still see talent in the 4th round, should we trade a 2009 pick to grab an extra player or 2? Since we are counting on an extra 3rd for Faneca, is it possible to get a 4th & 7th this year for our 3rd next year?

I still just don't understand ignoring great value just to focus on one OL position. Especially when we know the starting OL is set anyway at this point

*Mike McGlynn, OL, Pitt
5th Round
Pierre Garcon, WR, Mount Union
Antwaun Molden, CB, Eastern Kentucky
6th Round
Dennis Dixon, QB, Oregon
Mario Urrutia, WR, Louisville
7th Round/UDFA
Ryan Torian, RB, Arizona State
*Keilen Dykes, DL, West Virginia

Jehuu Cailcrick, RB, Michigan State
Jason Jones, DE, Eastern Michigan
*Darrell Strong, TE, Pitt
Bryan Smith, LB, McNeese State
Mathew Slater, FS/RS, UCLA
*Ryan Mundy, S, West Virginia
Now, not that it will happen, but WHAT if the Steelers ended up with Avril, Bryant, and then adds a couple sliding OL in the 5th/6th...because you KNOW there are some guys that will slide. They always do.
And, I think you could see guys like Drew Miller, C, Florida, Fernando Velasco, C, Georgia, and Shannon Tevega, G, UCLA fall completely out of this draft. It is not out of the realm of possibility and IMO, all three could start in the NFL.
