Too bad, they should have fried him.
And donating $12,500 to his own daughters college fund? This guy made millions, pardon me for not being impressed.

They got off easy, far as I'm concerned.
The only thing that it said Tylski did was "spanked the girl with a belt beyond the scope of proper discipline."
Now, that is bad enough, but her mother is the one being tagged with the really horrid behavior. The article really does not get into the scope of Tylski's involvement or awareness. I would like to believe that most of this was going on while Tylski was working, out of town with work, or not around. The thought of a parent and a step parent both condoning this turns my stomach.
IMO, the mother got off really light. She should serve time.

Yeah, that ain't all he beat.
I'm glad Rich could feel like a man by beating up on a poor little girl. Fucking pussy.

That makes my stomach turned. Her mother forced her leg over her head until it popped??? WTF? Why is she not in jail?

Momma ought to get the same treatment she gave that poor girl, from the finger bending to the leg bending, then wait 8 hours to take her to the ER, just like she did that girl. Then I feel justice would be served.

Good People of the Steeler Nation-
A big hello from Jacksonville, Florida. Thank you for your support of Janie, the abused and tortured ex-child of Jane and Rich Tylski. The horrors that these 2 inflicted on this child is worse than any horror movie you might ever watch. Rest assured that the child is doing great now. She is bright, loving and kind. Jane and Rich now have their "worshippers" stating that they did not do these horrible things. They had to take a plea to protect their family. The truth is that they took a plea to avoid doing up to 30 years in jail. The prosectution had a great case agains Jane Tylski who inflicted most of the abuse. Rich was aware of what was going on and let it continually happen. Can you imagine an over 300 pound man hitting a 40 pound little girl with a belt? The best part of the pretrial stuff, is when the Tylski's young nephew, who was living in the house at the time, came forward and collaborated the stories of abuse. Jane and Rich have since stated that the nephew is a liar too. Another reason the prosecutor accepted a plea was the judge. Very unstable and inconsisten. Showed great favortism towards the Tylskis from the beginning.

They should've got a year in jail, at least.

I was brought up Catholic and I always believed there was a God, but I didn't have a personal relationship with Him. I figured that I could get to heaven if I was just the best person I could be. I didn't often stop to think, "How good is good enough?"
In high school, God revealed to me in the Bible that unless I came to a point of asking Christ into my heart through prayer--beginning a relationship with Him--I wasn't going to meet Him in heaven. I had to act on my belief.
Since coming to know God, I've learned that without Him I can do nothing. He has blessed me with a beautiful wife (Jane) and wonderful children (Joshua and Jordan); but with His blessing comes the responsibility to encourage them in the ways of the Lord. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Phil. 4:13). Playing in the NFL gives me the opportunity to fulfill God's Divine plan. He gives me an opportunity to be a light for Him.

The sad part, it may have been his beliefs that were the root of the problem. Lots of weird shit has been done to children in order to "get the devil out of them"...

How come they always find jesus when they get in serious trouble.... "I found Jesus, so you have to forgive me and let it slide"

Scott, I believe that article was when he found Jesus long ago. I'm thinking it's time for them to find Jesus again.

Keep in mind everyone that children are children and they are going to get in "trouble" but this child was tortured. Bending her fingers until they are malformed, poking her mouth with a fork, bending her leg back over her head until the femur cracks which required a steel rod to fix, slamming her head into a table which required stitches etc.
Since the child was taken by DCF there have have been NO discipline issues. There is the ocassional did you put your dirty laundry in the basket, did you remember to turn of your lights, didn't I ask you to wash your hair too etc. but nothing past the normal childhood behavior.
So I ask you your opinion- Was the child mistreated because she was really bad and has suddenly undergone a total personality change or are the Tylskis just manical? They are pieces of crap!

Yeah the wife should have served time. I am curious as to what was considered excessive with the belt spanking............ Was it how many times he spanked her or the amount of force he used or both>>?

I was a ballboy for the steelers from 2000-03 and I always tought Tylski was a weirdo, but I had no Idea that he would abuse his own child. The guy would freak if you even tried to clean out his locker for him, now i see what he would do if you really pissed him off.
