I received a letter from the Steelers today in my mail offering me a chance at a membership for the season to the new "Steelers Legends Club".

Dear Lorraine:

The Pittsburgh Steelers are pleased to offer you as a member of our season ticket holder waiting list, an opportunity to purchase a season long membership to the new Steelers Legends Club.

Here are the features and benefits available to you as a member of the Steelers Legends Club:

Ticket in the South End Zone field level seating
Parking Pass (one pass per account)
Pre-Game food, beverage, entertainment, and gift inside the new Steelers Legends Club Tent located at Heinz Field
Steelers Alumni appearances each week inside the tent
Box lunch and soft drink delivered to your seat
Private entrance into Heinz Field through the Marketing Check-In area
Ticket in the south end zone field level seating area
Exclusive waitress service available during each game
.....

Anyone else get this that's on the waiting list? Just curious.

A full season's membership is $3,500 for the season and they offer you a half season membership as well for $1,750.

The picture on the enclosed litersature shows the seats below the jumbotron.

So ... I'm "in" basically?

Wow! Anyone else get this?

Are you a season ticket holder? I will have to ask my brother if he got something like this in the mail.

No ... I'm on the waiting list.

No more guests at the game I guess? There aren't too many seats down there so good luck to anyone who has that opportunity.

I got it.

I can't see me doing it either. I don't think it means that you are "in" anymore than before. I certainly don't want to pay $7K next year to take my kid to 8 games

So where's the marching band gonna sit now? Or the boy scouts when they give away yearbooks? I think this a good way to generate additional revenues for the team, and it's good to see the Steelers using those seats (unlike Pitt who just puts banners over them during games) I just hope my favorite standing area in the South Plaza isn't affected by this. Will the "legends club tent" be inside Heinz Field, or will it be in that area where that ampitheater is supposed to be across from Art Rooney Ave?

I agree. It does give you an "in" though while you're waiting on the list for those people with money. Its a great idea to appease some on the waiting list, but quite expensive for me.

I guess they perform and leave?

They don't say where it's gonna be. But the south plaza? I would think that it will affect those who are accustomed to being there. Think of how close you are to those who just paid all that money? Some may complain.

It'll probably be that tent that they already have outside of the stadium.

I got the letter and have some back and forth with the ticket office:

1. The tent is located just outside the stadium between the main gate and the old Gate D marker from TRS. You then come in thru a private side entrance into the stadium.
2. They do still have seats available as of yesterday morning.
3. The deadline is close of business tomorrow. If you are interested, you need to get a form from the ticket office to be completed. You pay 1/2 now and 1/2 in 30 days.

I'm still on the fence as it's pretty steep charge on top of the drive in from Eastern PA.

After the Legends Club package has passed, is anyone doing the Ultimate Fan Club Promotion that came yesterday. It would be a pretty sweet deal if you live in Pittsburgh, but not so for us out of towners.

I got the Legends club offer. I am seriously considering, but they will probably be out of tix. by the time I talk myself into dropping 7k.

I would be more interested in the ultimate fan package, but I have not received that as of yet.

Sorry to say Motown, but the Legends Club offer was to end at Close of Business last Friday according the email I got from the guy at the Ticket office that was handling the offer last week.

This whole things strikes me funny that the Steelers are going through all these different packages. But I'm still hoping to find one that work's for me.

I got that "Ultimate Fan" package as well ... yeah ... like I've got a grand to blow on that.

Each of these letters are signed by ARII ... and it's obvious he's pandering to the white collar folks in town.

Let him open up the ticket sell to just those fans on the waiting list ... then I'll think he's really trying to do things right for us loyal fans.

I would agree that pandering's probably the right word. That's why these deals are striking me as funny. It's an attempt to get money from the people on the Waiting List, since we are all now screwed on getting tix with the Ticketmaster deal. Why didn't they just make the deal with Ticketmaster, but make it open to the Waiting List people only? Now that everyone has an account number, that would have been very simple instead of going through the circle jerk last Saturday at Noon.

I used to tell my Eagle friends here how the Steelers were different because of the Waiting List benefits, but now it seems to be a bit of a sell out move, which the Eagles did when Jeff Laurie came in.

LOL, I got the letter after the deadline had already passed then. Nice job, Steelers!

I might have considered it if I lived in Pittsburgh. But those are some pretty hinky seats if you actually want to see the game. Besides I've sat in that end zone and was almost deafened by the sound system. I'll never sit there again.

I just got the same letter. It is dated June 20th and it says that it is on a first come first serve basis, but has to be done by July 4th.

I guess they are just going down the wait list..

I too am on the fence. It's expensive and I'm in San Francisco! I wonder how easily I would be able to sell them. They are quite expensive. ~$440 per game.

Because the only loyal fans are the ones on the waiting list (or who already have tickets)? If someone isn't on the list by now, it's useless to sign up.

I am a new to the forum and found this site because I googled the legends club. I recently purchased 2 seats to the legends club and i got to admit I was so excited I had the option to buy tickets i couldn't resist. I am hoping to sell a few games to make some money back but I am skeptical how thats going to go. There isn't even a way to list them on stub hub as far as i can tell. I would be interested in anymore info about the legends club if anyone comes across some. I was told I should receive a package in late july but thats it other than the letter.

I was told that this was offered to numbers 15,000 to 25,000 on the waiting list. I ended up doing the half season Plan B which got me Panthers preseason and Jaguars, Chargers, Bengals and Cowboys and an empty feeling in my back pocket. The home games are just awesome this year, hard to pass up!!! I was told I will be offered this same plan each year and I could only do the full season if someone dropped out of the Plan A in the following years. Basically if you don't buy into it this year then it won't be offered next year unless someone drops out and then it will be offered to current holders first. It doesn't effect my waiting list status which I was told is currently going through about 2000 people a year and I'm #24,000 so 12 years until I would get this opportunity again. As of Friday at Noon 6/27/08 there were still a few available.

Hope this helps... GO STEELERS!!!!

If there isn't a discount next year I can't see me doing it again. I am already second guessing the cost for this year. I am curious when they say there is gonna be steelers alumni who they are planning on having and how that will work.
fenny did they tell you where you were on the list? i called to ask once before and they wouldnt tell me they would only tell me the year and month they were on.

Lew539,

The ticket office says they place about 2000 people a year and I signed up in 2005, currently they are placing people who signed up for the waiting list in 1995, so I should be right around number 20,000 on the list so about 10 years away from season tickets. The legends club told me they offered these tickets to numbers 15,000 to 25,000 on the waiting list, that was straight from them, so I know I am between those numbers for sure. As far as the guest alumni and all, I am new to this too and info seems to be scarce. I hope they make it worth the cost. The pregame food and drink sounds really awesome so I hope they treat us right, and if they don't then we don't have to buy them next year. I live in Atlanta so the half season was great for us to fly up for a few games. I was just so excited to have guaranteed seats for a few games, so that I can plan ahead with work and not have to worry about getting tickets. As far as studhub, they will update there charts to include the section we are in, I just think it is too new yet. This package sounds relaxing to me because we have parking, and food and drink and some great seats, what more can you ask for man!!!
We will see you there, my wife will be the one with the crazy tie-dyed steelers shirt and I will be wearing my psycho-WARD t-shirt. Our names are Chris and Shannon Fenchak, see you pregame.

Anyone else sign up? Just got one in the mail dated July 3rd w/ a response requested date of no later than Friday, July 18. Might one assume that there haven't been a lot of takers, as yet?

We got ours yesterday too. It is just a little too steep for us. I don't think the seats are the greatest, with the possible exception of having Hines toss you a ball after a TD.

Plus, it would mean traveling from Baltimore and some of those games were Thursday nights. Just not worth it for us this year.

I guess the keep moving down the list as there are not enough first comers being served.

Joe

Has anyone received any other offers from the Club beyond the Legends and Ultimate Fan Clubs? I was starting to think there would be more after these two to move some more cash and get a few of us to the games. Obviously, these plans are much more lucrative for the club than just the simple Ticketmaster face value sell off. I wonder how many seats they've held back for this type of deal.

Couldn't resist. Called this morning and was told the phone's been ringing off the hook and that by close of business today (7/8) they probably couldn't gurantee two seats together. I was told to expect first or second row. If you characters have been talking about this for the past month and there are still first or second row seats available how popular can it be?? Nevertheless, a half season was just too tempting for woo to pass up.

A couple other tidbits: the "gift" is probably stuff like Stiller key chains, etc. And, while they are currently working on finalizing the Alumni guests, Dwayne Woodruff and Louis Lipps and others that still live in the Burgh are the types of participants one might reasonably expect.

Sounds like they'll still have room for the bands and boy scouts after all.

I got the letter and quite honestly I laughed enough to pee my pants! 2 seats for 8 games if you do the math that's $875 PER GAME to sit in the freakin end zone!!! Also, guess where the loud obnoxious speakers for the $hitty bumper music are?

Maybe the new owner will throw out the musty old list of season ticket holders and allow some new fans to have a game experience!

This offer is a joke. Over $400 a seat to sit in the endzone. Oh, but you do get a beer and a hotdog included! You could go on Stubhub and buy 50 yard line club level seats each game for that price. I bit the bullet a few months ago and bought two PSL's. You can go to stadiumpsl.com or seasonticketrights.com and you'll see a long list of PSL's for sale. You could get upperdeck endzone seats for a little more than one season's worth of these garbage tickets, and you own the seat for life!
