Tight end Heath Miller this morning accepted an invitation to play in Sunday's Pro Bowl, joining three Steelers teammates on the AFC roster in the NFL all-star game.
Miller replaces the Indianapolis Colts' Dallas Clark, who cannot play in the Pro Bowl because he will be in the Super Bowl.
Miller, one of three first alternates from the Steelers when the teams were first announced, will join teammates James Harrison, Casey Hampton and LaMarr Woodley in the Pro Bowl. There could have been five but quarterback Ben Roethlisberger declined the invitation when Tom Brady withdrew because of a sore right arm. Woodley, also a first alternate, was added last week.
The Steelers contingent doubled the original two, Harrison and Hampton, who were voted to the Pro Bowl. Miller is the first tight end in 16 years from the Steelers to play in the game. Eric Green made it after the 1993 season.
