Yup. My thoughts too. I figured the Steelers had just enough time to score without leaving the Cards any time.
In fairness, I would limit the list of QB's to those who actually played in the game. That said, I was always damn happy for Bubby getting two rings with Denver, and for one of those seasons he started a fair number of games when Elway was injured.

I was lucky enough to be at the game...after Fitz scored and the Steelers were backed up, I turned to him and said "The Steelers went 92 vs. the Ravens D earlier, they will handle this"....
me duele el corazón por el toque de una buena mujer
I was amongst incredulous Steeler haters who were busy cheering against the Steelers and not rooting for the Cards so much...except for Fitz (younger folks do not root so much for teams these days...just players of the moment, in my experience).
I was actually pretty calm, knowing the crazy games the Steelers had pulled out that season, and told the folks to keep watching 'cause Ben was going to take them down the field and win the game....which he did. Many, many jaws were agape and/or death-rattling on the floor a few minutes later.
All is not right with the world, but Dick LeBeau is in the Hall of Fame...and that makes things a little better.
I will admit that for a few seconds, that Fitz TD was like a punch in the gut. During the TV Timeout I realized that there was still plenty of time left for Ben to drive the Steelers down and score.
Back on original topic: if I wanted a QB who could amass yards in a dome, I pick Manning. If I wanted a QB who is a leader, has a strong will and can win championships, I'll take Ben.
I still believe that Payton Manning is the best QB ever.......in fantasy football.

It really was. But what was even more of a hit was the holding call on that drive. I had seen that script before, the times when we just didn't have it at the end of the game.
Peyton Manning will go down as one of the top 2 passers ever. This past game does nothing to change that. However, when you start talking about all around quarterback, you have to consider the others who were not only very good passers, but winners. The bottom line is that all the media will ever look for in being a top QB is their passing stats, just look at how Drew Brees immediately was cemented as a top QB. Ben's qualities are usually ignored outside of a few articles because they aren't pretty. Regardless, I am extremely happy with our QB in the playoffs over anyone else. Hopefully he'll be in position to add more to his legacy next year.Back on original topic: if I wanted a QB who could amass yards in a dome, I pick Manning. Probably the most intelligent post I've read, so far, on this topic. Well said. Did Bradshaw win those SB's against Dallas because he was a better QB than Staubach? I don't think so. I think it was because other members of his team made plays in certain situations that gave Terry the better chance to win. His recievers caught the passes thrown to them in crucial situations and Staubach's sometimes didn't (Jackie Smith).
Of these QBs which one has the highest career QB rating in the playoffs....Montana, Big Ben, Peyton Manning? The answer is Manning w/ 95.5 vs Montana w/ 95.3. Ben's QB rating is actually lower than Favres at 87.2 vs 87.3. Montana blows everyone out of the water w/ a 127.3 rating in SBs, but these numbers were still surprising to me. I realize QB ratings dont tell the whole story, but I think it shows Manning played well enough for his team to win.
