Sorry Superman. Since his accident, when I look at Roethlisberger, all I see is a taller/whiter version of Kordell Stewart - flashes of brilliance interspersed with hours of mediocre play.

Wow.....Kordell threw more ground balls than Greg Maddux and is seriously the worst starting QB I have EVER seen. Ben is currently the 6th rated QB......of all time.

Kordell couldn't carry Ben's jock on Ben's worst day. That said, if Kordell is the worst starting qb you've ever seen, you haven't seen much football. I could make a list a guys worse than KS who have started in this league, and it would be a long ass list. I was actually able to live with Kordell's worm burners because they were pretty much impossible to pick 6, unlike the high and wide misses of Tommy Gun that frequently ended up in the opponent's end zone.

Maddox was way better than Stewart. Kent Graham beat our Stewart. Nuff said. There is not a single starting QB right now that I choose Stewart over, including Russell. Stewart was a TO machine and he only threw 17 times a game. He was the pitts. Thanks, Cowher.

I can't believe you've got me defending Kordell. Kordell was a standard issue NFL scrub qb. There are plenty of his caliber. Kordell was basically a Joey Harrington who could run. Very similar numbers. Kordell was picked off once for every 28 passes he threw. Harrington once for every 29. Tommy Maddox had a dreadful 1 out of 22 int to attempt ratio. Of course Ryan Leaf stands well apart from the crowd. One out of every 18 Leaf passes was picked off. His career qb rating of 50, is well below Harrington's 69.4, Kordell's 70, and Maddox' 72.4. His best season saw a qb rating of 57.7. His completion % of 48.4 is substantially worse than Kordell and Harrington's 56, and Maddox' 57%. In fact, even Jamarcus Russell has better numbers than Leaf. Leaf is the gold standard for the worst qb to have at least 20 starts in his career.

I'm assuming you're fairly young. You must not have lived through the Dick Shiner/Kent Nix era. Egad!

Wow...I dont think Ben and Kordell are anything alike. When we beat AZ in the superbowl I dont see kordell having that kinda game. Also in the 2005 playoffs ben tore it up and i think kordell would have folded. I kinda see your point of having mediocre play w/ flashes of brilliance, but Kordell's play was not even mediocre most of the time. Kordell had one good year and most people jumped on his bandwagon, but after that he was horrible. Ben lost his comback magic last year, but he is many many strides ahead of kordell.

As for drafting a QB, I think Dixon can be good he just needs some time. We also need to throw in some designed runs to keep defenses off balance. I still think we should take a QB in the draft, but no earlier than the third round. I do not trust Ben and his "womanizing kills" and sooner or later he will get burnt innocent or not. I am not a Tebow/Gator hater or lover, but I do believe if Tebow can make it as a pro QB it would be in our offense He is big, strong, fairly mobile, and has a strong arm. If Tebow can keep plays alive like Ben, our receivers have the ability to get very open and Tebow just has to chuck it in a general area. If he throws well at pro day, then I think we should take a long look at Tebow, but I have a feeling he wont last till 3rd round.

We have ten picks. Sure, why not take a chance on a QB later.

Wow Bruzilla this may be the worst statement around here since Coach said Troys head was to big... So since the Accident you have seen only a taller whiter version of Kordell.. UM??????? lets see... since the accident Ben has won a superbowl.. a superbowl in which everyone the the country has agreed he should have ben the MVP of.. good numbers and one of the best last drives of all time.. Then the following year he passes for 4000 yards and carrys a team on his back that has the worst O line in the league and a D that couldn't stop the lions or any other bottom feeder in the league. If flashes of Brilliance brings us a superbowl every two years then I hope he has an accident every off season.

I was very impressed with Dixon during the pre-season and in the Baltimore game, and actually prefer him to Ben.

As for drafting, I say we get Tebow. I know... all the Gator Haters out there will whine about his passing mechanics, his throws, how he's over-rated, etc., but many you of you are the same folks who laughed when I suggested we draft Harvin last year, and look how that deal turned out. Tebow's never been considered good enough to do any of the things he's done... until he gets there and wildly surpasses the expectations of his doubters. I would not mind seeing Tebow become the #2 abd Ben headed off to Dallas or Cinncinnati. :)

LMAO, did I just read that? HAHAHAHAHA. Ben was great in 2007, we won the Super Bowl in 2008, and had a QB raitng of 100+ in 2009 and you're comparing him to Kordell, WOW.
