Roethlisberger's lawyer hires a team of investigators

An attorney for Ben Roethlisberger said Tuesday his firm has assembled a team of investigators to gather information about sexual assault allegations that have been raised by a 20-year-old college student.

But Attorney Edward T.M. Garland said he believes that Mr. Roethlisberger "is absolutely innocent of criminal misconduct."

"The fans and the people that believe in him should be patient. ... The truth will come out," he said Tuesday in a telephone interview. "The investigating authorities are acting in a responsible matter thus far and I believe they are taking their role very seriously."

Nonetheless, he has his own investigators -- some of whom are former law enforcement officials and some of whom are lawyers -- interviewing witnesses and "studying circumstances."

"Any good lawyer needs to look at every fact, every witness and every circumstance to render proper and good legal advice for anyone he represents," he said.

that's probably what the investigators are trying to figure out. Who is telling the truth and what crime was committed, if any. It must be one big, confusing puzzle to those coppers in GA.

There are all kinds of scenarios we can all debate back and forth for either side's benefit. For that matter, you could say Ben told her that she was bad at sucking dick and told her to quit and she got mad and hit her head on the way out and got pissed, looked up his stats on NFL.com, and then made a complaint to the police because she was upset.

There's all kinds of crap anyone can imagine right now. Too hard to say at this point.

Oh and her friends told her Ben Roethlisberger was in the club and he might have "sexually assaulted" her so let's go to the hospital, call your parents and wait for the check to come in.

I'm sure alcohol was involved with her and is why Ben's lawyer is confident that the truth will come out.

Meanwhile, TMZ also reports that some comments posted on Facebook and Twitter by the accuser's sorority sisters have been removed, at the direct instruction of the sorority to which the women belong. We'd heard, admittedly second hand, that some of the messages might have actually indicated that Roethlisberger didn't do what he allegedly did.
