    Steigerwald blasts Ben

(this is authentic as far as I could find - I was gonna put it in the other thread but it's now full of [FILTH]wads that just run their mouths and are garbaging it all up.- feel free to move it if you wish)

    Blog by John Steigerwald

    Just Watch the Game Blog

This is my first posting on the JUST WATCH THE GAME blog. The plan here is to blog at least once a day and probably several times a day. JUST WATCH THE GAME is the title of the book that I’ll be releasing in a few months and you’ll be able to read excerpts at justwatchthegame.com.

I guess I should get my two cents in on Ben Roethlisberger:

First of all, none of this surprises me. Ben is a bad citizen. He doesn’t know how to treat people and he definitely doesn’t know how to handle being the quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers. In my more than 30 years of working in the Pittsburgh sports media, I have never had any player come close to generating as many unsolicited questions from fans as Roethlisberger has. They want to know why he’s such a jackass. And these aren’t just Steelers fans who got turned down for an autograph. It’s men and women from all walks of life.

Most of the accounts of the incident in Georgial mention that Ben wasn’t drinking much. The implication being that he wasn’t high. Let me be the first to point out that he could very easily have been high on something other than alcohol. If that turns out to be the case, will you be surprised?

If this jackass is charged with sexual assault, the NFL should immediately suspend him for several games next season. If the league doesn’t, the Steelers should. We hear all the time about how the Rooney family does things differently. This is a chance to prove it. It’s one thing to suspend or cut a third receiver or a backup lineman. Suspending a $100 million quarterback would really set the Rooneys apart.

Roethlisberger is a punk who needs to be knocked down a peg or two.

A couple of years ago I heard from a woman who said that Roethlisberger blew off a Make-A-Wish kid. When KDKA-TVs News Director, John Verrilli, was shown the email, he made it clear that it was a story that his news department would not be pursuing. I eventually got in contact with the parents of the little girl who the jackass snubbed. They said the story was true but they didn’t want to go public with it for their daughter’s sake. The little girl had cystic fibrosis.

As I said, Bad citizen who needs a comeuppance.

Jackass? LOL. I wuld say he's an idiot, but that's not against the law. As much as I think this is going to turn out badly, waiting to see how this turns out is probably the best way to go.

Perhaps we should look into Mr.Steigerwald's personal life, maybe HE'S a crackhead and is just talking from experience. Because HE KNOWS that Ben is a BAD citizen, doesn't look like he HATES all of the folks he took pix with. OH WAIT! Those were PUBLICITY pix, JUST IN CASE something like this happened. Yeah, I get it now.
All praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the source of every mercy and the God who comforts us. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others.
When others are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.

Now Steigerwald has an agenda? LOL. You know for almost every "Ben is guilty, he's going to jail" bit of nonsense, you get something like the post above. It's what makes these threads as ridiculous as they get.

    Dear John,

When it comes to being a Douchebag, Ben doesn't have a corner on that market.

Good luck with you new blog, created to sell your new book, hopefully some more high profile celebrities can fail so you can smear them as drug abusing, dope fiends because they don't drink much.

That is a sure fire way to increase hits for your blog, and create publicity for your book, way to go, you're all class pal.

Now go [FILTH] yourself, you pompous, self aggrandizing, little bitch.

    Your concerned friend,

    SD

If you lived near Pittsburgh, and knew of anyone who had an occassional run-in with Ben out in public, you'd know that he is pretty much the douchebag that everyone says he is. Do I think he's a rapist? no, I don't. And I hope he is innocent and is able to put this incident behind him. But he is no model citizen, I don't care how many pictures he takes or police dogs he buys. He does have an overblown sense of entitlement that leads to a lot of negative press.

He blew off a Make a Wish kid? That's pretty [FILTH]ty.

I think this guy is dead on.

remember how people on this board just didn't understand why Ben wasn't getting his due in the media? even though he plays great yet he didn't get much recognition and people wanted to know why? well slowly it's starting to come out.....this guy is an arrogant jackass.

i'm a Ben fan.....i love #7 and he's by far our best player and when he has that uniform on no one else comes close....but as soon as that uniform is off of him i see nothing else but a jackass.

Ben needs some counsling.....he doesn't understand his true path. He's well on his way to be remembered as a legendary player for a hundred years. He's been a winner since he became the starter on offense.

This guy has a chance to be remembered with guys like Otto Graham, Gale Sayers, Jack Lambert and Joe Montana.........he is a legend and he is pissing it all away.

The Rooney family needs to sit him down and bitch-slap him and wake him the hell up......he has a chance to be one of the best football players to ever put on a uniform......following a 20 year old into a bathroom? come on man...you're way better than this crap....grow the hell up.

I never cared for the lisp-talker myself and didn't cry when he was axed. Putting something in print about suspicion of drugs in your blog is irresponsible and slanderous no matter who he's talking about (not to mention unprofessional).

    I agree with SD's post!

I do live in the Pittsburgh area and the one and only story I have heard about a "run in" with Ben was positive -- but it was PMA (Pre Motorcyle Accident).

I had gone up to Somerset one day to see the site of Flight 93 and stopped into the Oakhurst Tea Room for brunch with family. There on the wall was a framed picture of Ben (in casual clothes) surrounding by people in Steelers gear. While paying for my check I asked the manager (who was ringing it up) about the picture. It seems Ben and his motorcycle pals stopped in there for brunch that day. Long story short ... there was a 50th Anniversary party in progress upstairs and the theme was Steelers BlacknGold since the hubby was a diehard fan. Unbeknownst to the party upstairs, Ben was now downstairs having brunch with his pals. When Ben eventually learned what was taking place upstairs (because the rest room was downstairs and he kept seeing his jersey everywhere), he asked permission to join them where he spent over 30 minutes with them taking pictures and autographing stuff for them. That was straight from the Oakhurst Tea Room's manager's mouth about that incident which he relayed to me, my daughter, mother and stepfather very impressively!

I'm not saying Ben isn't a jackass ... I'm just saying the one story I heard from someone was to the contrary but that was PMA and I think that accident may have certainly have had more of an impact!

I don't think he is saying Ben is on anything. I think he is asking, given Ben's behavior over the last 8 or so months, if anyone would be surprised to find out he is on something. I mean, at least it's an explanation for possibly throwing away the winning ticket in the life lottery.

I just wonder how long until #3. Think about it...there are ALOT of crazy bitches out there. The next 1 nighter he has and blows off could say "pay me 500k" or accusation 3 ends your career (assuming it isn't already).

Ben is now in a position where he basically has to have chicks sign a release to bang them.

True ... that would be more responsible but it's not, IMO, how he wrote it. I think we're all looking for an explanation.

I heard someone yesterday at work talk about a friend of her's who lives on Washington Landing (where Ben first lived when he came here). She said he attended her church all the time and was very friendly, but after the accident he stopped. Many I work with (healthcare related), seem to suggest that the change may have occurred then.

I know the day of the accident I froze and prayed that he'd just live and survive. It didn't matter if he was able to play again as long as he lived. Then we heard he recovered better than expected. GREAT! Now the question was, "can he still play football?" I don't know how many of us really thought or expected him to be able to start that season as our #1 QB again. I know I for one felt like we had been spared such a devastating blow when he did come back as if nothing had happened ... that in itself was a true miracle! But was it? Were there invisible changes after all? Maybe there was.

There is so much more online about this ... but this is just one I'm quoting.
Even a person who makes a “good” recovery may go through some personality changes. Family members must be careful to avoid always comparing the impaired person with the way he/she “used to be.” Personality changes are often an exaggeration of the person's pre-injury personality in which personality traits become intensified. Some changes can be quite striking. It may be, for example, the head injury survivor used to be easy going, energetic, and thoughtful and now seems easily angered, self-absorbed, and unable to show enthusiasm for anything.

    http://www.caregiver.org/caregiver/j...jsp?nodeid=396
I stated this in one of the other "Ben" threads but I'll repeat it here ... we had someone working here who's personality was totally altered by a MVA with brain injury. She literally became a mean person who criticized unnecessarily, was extremely rude to others and was just extremely unpleasant all around. She represented our company apart from us and became a liability with other businesses we dealt with. It wasn't as if she didn't know her job anymore, she did! She knew her job, knew how to do her job, but she was just unbelievable to work with! She was terminated by the company who really didn't want to let her go but felt they had no choice. I can't help thinking about her now in light of Ben's antics.

Everyone that I've spoken to that has had a personal experience with Ben pretty much confirms this.

One of the local radio hosts, I believe it was MM, said how T Brady was married to a world class model, Romo was dating a recording celeb, and how Ben was frequenting college bars, hitting on 20 yo local tail. Definitely not very impressive.
All-time infantile post on SN. It was after hamster ejaculated prematurely and ruined his throwback jersey. All women for him now.-Franco

The most interesting thing in the article was that he said Ben is the most divisive person in his 30 years of covering sports in Pittsburgh. Couple that with the rumors Ben is not well liked in the locker room and you can start questioning his personality.

quality writing! his book is going to be a hot seller for sure!

Couple that with the RUMORS ~ get a life. Until last week we've heard NOTHING negative about Ben, and now you come here and start talking [FILTH]. I don't give a [FILTH] who you root for, just keep in mind that we HAVE 6 RINGS, AND YEAH, get bitter and talk [FILTH] if you feel the need. If you cry babies FEEL THE NEED to bash our team when SOMETHING negative comes down on us, then do it. We don't care, we STILL knocked yer asses play for play each season and WON. Get off of Ben as your excuse. Good luck next seasons, graspers ~ we WILL be healthy.

If you've heard NOTHING (allcaps is fun) negative about Ben, you haven't been paying the slightest bit of attention.
All-time dumbest post on SN (I hope it was made in ignorance): There have been times in history where a pogrom would have been a good thing, such as 1930's Germany. - hamster

    Word.

I shared this story before, but here it is again. My niece's husband, who is well enough connected that he ended up in a gold tournament that Ben also played in back in the summer of 2006, saw Ben at some point during the tournament. He strolled up to Ben, smiled, offered congratulations for the Super Bowl win.

Ben told him to "[FILTH] off."

Ben Roethlisberger is a class A douchebag.
