Poll: What will be the end result of the Ben case

Just interested in seeing what everyone thinks is going to shake down once the madness ends

  2. #2

I think he will be charged and then the charges will be dropped due to a financial settlement a la Kobe. I'm pretty baffled as to what will happen with his career. I would guess there will be a suspension of some sort, the big question in my mind is whether the Rooneys will really walk the walk. Tough choice...it's a reputation that took decades to build vs. maybe several years of a great football team and shots at another Lombardi or two. I don't envy them having to make that decision.

A combination of all 4 dealing with this recent case...

    1) Guilty in the Courts of Public Opinion, but Not Guilty of any criminal wrong doing in Milledgeville, Ga

    2) Guilty and Screwed when the Civil Court lawsuit is official filed in Milledgeville, Ga.

    3) Guilty of a soon to be a big NFL fine because of general principles and to appease the "Screamin" A. Smith and John Steigerwald's of the world.

    4) On his last strike with the Rooney Family to the point he can't even hang out with Jeff Reid at the same functions.

One last thing since we're guessing and predicting here based on the info already put out there this week.... Ben will end up having one of those press conferences that I can't stand to watch when not all the information has been presented for what ever reason that doesn't bring closure and gives everyone the chance to say there's a CON-spiracy.

I don't know if I voted with my head or heart, but i don't think he gets charged, and don't think he will get a suspension, what I do think is if he does not get charged with anything, he needs to make this go away fast, quick, and in a hurry, no long drawn out civil trial. pay her, and move on, chalk it up to the cost of putting yourself, and your team in a bad situation.. just my ,02 cents..

In a perfect world, Spike's Escort and Limo Enterprises will reap the benefit of all these multi-millionaires looking for girls fresh off the farm.

Good Russian & Polish meat and potatoes girls are what Ben needs....that's my professional opinion.

The creator of this poll unfortunately thinks this is going to get ugly and that the Steelers front office will have no other choice but to cut ties with Big Ben. I literally cannot believe that this is happening...a team that is locked and loaded for a 6-8 year run of greatness is at risk of losing the face of the franchise and let's be honest...the Steelers without Ben are average at best.

    I need more choices.

    * Ben is sentenced to a National Organization of Women conference where he is pelted by sticks and stones and fake ID's
    * Ben is sentenced to listen to 300 hours of GA police "pacifics" about how they screwed up his case
    * Ben is sentenced to be Tiger Woods caddy for 3 years
    * Ben is sentenced to wear a a tshirt that says "The Cleveland Browns Own My Ass" for the rest of the offseason

    That's a good start....

I honestly think he will get off and not miss any time on the field.

If he's found guilty, dump or trade his ass. (I hear Arizona needs a QB) But if he is not, what the hell did he do to earn a suspension? Somebody accuses you of something and you should be automatically punished? Sorry, that's just ridiculous. How many Steelers (even married ones) do you think went out and got plenty of random tail over the years? I'd bet a lot. Should they all have been punished or is it only when there's an unproven accusation thrown out there? I can think of several posters on here that would be knee deep in strange tail every night if they were in Ben's shoes.

I can't vote sincerely because I don't have enough facts, but if I had to guess, no charges will be filed and he'll be settling a civil suit out of court.

End result in the Ben case? Rooneys make him wear one of these whenever he leaves the Steelers compound:

If he refuses, he's forced to join the brotherhood...

If nothing else, he'll have a new wardrobe when he goes out with the fellas'

I believe and I certainly hope Ben won't be charged and that the Girl will admit she consented to some sort of activity, that hitting her head was a legitimate accident, fooling around in the john just might cause someone to slip and fall.I also hope she's ok.I hope this whole thing was just the two of them fooling around drunk, that Ben wasn't abusing her in any way..Having said that Rodger Godell will probably suspend Ben,hell the Steelers may even suspend him for conduct detrimental,or just being foolish and thoughtless.I really don't believe he attacked anyone.

In just 1 week, my opinion went from;...

"that dumb@ss Ben's in deep deep sh!t and will prob miss games"...

    to...

"This chic was drunk and exaggerated her story"....

I think it's WAY too early to consider an ending judgement.

You know how they are saying with the healthcare debate: If the Dems had the votes they'd have done it already?

I wonder if the same applies here. You'd think if they had what they needed to charge the guy, they would've done it by now.

Personally, I hope he gets slapped on some level. Sometimes it is the only thing that wakes guys up.

No charges filed, Ben settles Civil Suit out of court, and is traded this offseason for draft choices.

Bens last act as a Pittsburgh Steeler was giving Arians another year.

Wait. No charges filed, but the Rooneys still trade Ben?
    HA, .....ok.

That's about as crazy as predicting a Steelers SB victory in Week 10.

While I can somewhat understand those who believe he should never be a Steeler again if he is charged/arrested/convicted, those who think the Steelers should cut ties with him if he is not guilty simply blow my mind...

Especially because, of all people, they are also the ones who are old enough to have followed the Steelers from the careers of Terry Bradshaw to Ben Roethlisberger...and everyone in-between.

Franchise quarterbacks don't exactly grow on trees in Western Pennsylvania anymore. And the Steelers are in the business of winning. Since nobody has done it more often than Roethlisberger within his first 5 years in the NFL, I doubt that the Rooneys are dumb enough to do as you wish.
