Round 7 Pick 27: Pooka Williams, RB, Kansas (A+)

Offense, offense, offense ... Traded down expecting to get Trask, but nope. Taken. Harris is a great Plan B. OL, OL, OL, OL, OLB, OLB. Two 7th rounders back-up to offensive starters, special teams help. I cheated since I know McCloud is returning to Miami, but whatever. I would do flips if this turned out to be the real draft.

I'm not sure how I feel about Lance without the right coaching, but I somehow think he could develop into a stud in Matt Canada's offense.

I wanna say 2. It shows a commitment to improving the run. Almost went 1 but really don't care for a WR in 1. Especially with teams history of being quality WR draft capable.

I like Leatherwood but he took a hit with his lackluster Senior bowl. Steelers usually radar in on that. With a move to G possible I could see them looking at prospects in one who can man down that LT spot.

Draft 1 was the best skill position available on the board. Idea was to simply add as many playmakers to the team as possible. The first three picks add a ton of speed to the offense, true home run threats. Toney could potentially be a stud in Canada's offense.

Draft 2 was focused on the building the lines and ground game. I had to stray from the plan because of the lack of talent available.

Draft 3 I just took the top available player on the board. The last two rounds were an exception because the top position was WR and I already drafted two.

I caught trade-back fever

I hear 'ya, but two points. First, the team is NOT going to add 20 new players so you are giving up some very good players - potential immediate starters - for a ton of projects, many of whom don't even make the team. Second, the talent drop-off after early 3rd round makes me shy away from any deal that gives up any of the first 75 picks.

Round 1 Pick 30 (BUF): Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina (A+)

Round 7 Pick 18: Tre McKitty, TE, Georgia (A)
Round 7 Pick 27: Buddy Johnson, ILB/OLB, Texas A&M (A+)

If the draft unfolded this way, I would do backflips. Traded down since my top 3 targets (Harris, Leatherwood, Trask) gone by pick 24. Horn is in my opinion the best CB in the draft. Big, fast, great fluidity, able to turn and run, break on passes. No way he is there at pick 30. Zero chance. Then get not one but TWO top-tier tackles. Mayfield is a quintessential LT and Radunz good enough to man that position as well. Upgrade RB, FS, ILB. McKitty is a contributor this season and the starting TE by 2022.

Dropped down since the site generally has Trask going either top-20 or into the 2nd round, gambled he would still be there at 28 and he was. Trask is a QB who will be very, very good in the NFL. Big, very good arm. Much bigger and stronger than Fields, Lance and Jones. The real criticism of Trask is that he is immobile and takes too long to get rid of the ball. Okay. But cannot teach a guy to be 6'5", 245 lbs., with a rocket arm, awareness, accuracy. He is a franchise QB that some say will last to the 2nd round. Nope. Then get a LT, RB, ILB, interior line help, quality CB, pass rusher, and the best punter in college football. Hey, it's true.

Round 6 Pick 40 (COMP): Janarius Robinson, DE/OLB, Florida State (A+)
Round 7 Pick 18: D.J. Daniel, CB, Georgia (A+)
Round 7 Pick 27: Tre McKitty, TE, Georgia (A)

Yeah, yeah, I have a man-crush on Trask. BFD. He is a franchise QB. Oh, and add a superior LT, one of the best guards in the draft, a legit 3-down RB, significant improvement in the defensive backfield, two project pass rushers, two ILB candidates.

I did miss out on the punter.

48985, *******! Beat that!

Seriously, if a draft like that were possible, the Steelers could release about 10 players and save a zillion dollars under the cap while having a franchise QB, a massively upgraded OL, a TE who would change the passing game, a legit RB, pass rushers to develop, improved secondary.

Oh, and that awesome punter I now want.
