So the draft approaches this week and as always a lot of fun for many.

Adding to it, shall we play a game?

So this contest is simple. Predict round 1 -7 of who the Steelers will select. The winner will be the contestant with the most accrued points.

The rules are as follows:

Predict the player in the correct round = 5 points.
Predict the correct player but in a different round = 3 points.
Predict the wrong player = 0 points.
Bonus points - predict correctly what round a trade will happen = 4 points, predict a trade but the wrong round = 1 point.

Tiebreaker What position(s) won't be drafted. Each correct answer = 1 point
.

1 Pick 24 -
2 Pick 55-
3 Pick 87-
4A Pick 128-
4B Pick 140-
6 Pick 216-
7A Pick 245-
7B Pick 254-

In the event a contestant declines his/her prize it then goes to the runner up. It will not be donated to a charity of your choosing, it will not go to someone "needy". I am not sending a vacuum cleaner or a box of juicy fruits. So the prize will not fulfill needs outside of your Steelers fandom. These are the rules so they are written. I have spoken my piece and counted to three.

Nice draft slash, but I really think they go double dipping with CB this year, after Layne’s situation.

1. Najee Harris - RB
2. Quinn Meneirz - C
3. Stone Forsythe - LT
4a. Derrick Barnes - LB
4b. Israel Mukuamu - CB
6. Charles Snowden - OLB
7a. Patrick Johnson - OLB
7b. Richad Wildgoose - CB

no trades.

UDFA inc. Tarron Jackson OLB, Tevon Grimes WR, Paul Menet C, Luke Farrell TE.

Interesting draft. However, Zona, no way Turner lasts to the 7th. I think he is gone by the 4th, 5th at the latest. Weaver, maaaaaybe, but I have him going in the 5th or 6th.

You at least have the Oline and RB addressed. Plus some of the other picks can pan out. That is a wait and see draft. So in the end it may not suck.😁

1.24-Creed Humphrey, C, Oklahoma
I have a feeling the RBs will be gone and while I like Dickerson, his injury history is concerning. Humphrey was an excellent lineman for his team, a three-year starter, two-time captain, and is just 21 years old right now. Checks about every box the Steelers like in the first round and they probably value center more than any other team in the NFL. Just another quality player in a long line of talented centers. Zaven Collins is a darkhorse as he has the inside/outside versatility that would benefit this defense and he would add size and athleticism next to the undersized Bush.

2.55-Elijah Molden, CB, Washington
Football bloodlines and has a productive career making plays on the ball. Also an excellent special teams player, which we know the Steelers like. Great fit to replace Mike Hilton's role in the defense.

3.87-Trey Sermon, RB, Ohio State
I'm not enamored with Sermon, but I do think he's a Steelers type back and is one of the day 2 guys who could carry the load as a three-down back. He was unbelievable in the Big 10 title game and CFP semifinal game against Clemson.

4.128-Tommy Tremble, TE, Notre Dame
Lacks ideal size, but has solid athleticism as well as NFL bloodlines. Was not productive as a receiver at Notre Dame, but that was a knock on Chase Claypool as well. Said to be a good blocker.

4.140-Robert Hainsey, OL, Notre Dame
Much later than I hoped to grab another offensive lineman, but it was too hard to pass on Molden in the second and I think if the team drafts Sermon, it'll be no later than the third.

6.216-Patrick Jones, EDGE, Pitt
I actually like Jones' teammate Rashad Weaver a little better, but I think the Steelers will like Jones better in their defense. He's a terrific pass rusher who is strong against the run. He racks up sacks in bunches, but is limited athletically.

7.245-Jacob Harris, WR, UCF
Not much experience, just banking on his size and speed.

7.254-Paris Ford, S, Pitt
Undraftable testing numbers, but he plays faster and hits hard. Worth a look this late in the draft.

I feel strongly that Molden would be an upgrade. One of my favorite players in the draft. High on him and Williams.
