All emotion from a close loss aside, Matt Canada really is terrible. Just terrible.
All season defenses have been stacking the line and he has no counter to it. So what happens on our last offensive series, Chargers stack the line and Ben takes 2 sacks. Where are the quick dump offs and screens? Horrible series, the offense had plenty of time to work its way downfield for the winning TD, instead we saw Ben standing back in the pocket like a statue getting killed on long developing plays.

I haven't ran it back to see

but **** whoever the two steelers were laying on the ******* ground on Hebert's long run where Heyward had to catch him

unless they had to be carried off the ******* field there is no reason to ******* quit like that

i think they ran into each other trying to cover rub routes over the middle and were both shaken up.

Najee is going to get himself killed
No, Canada's play calling and Ben's insistence on carrying it out are going to get Najee killed.

I agree, but they've hung Najee out to dry on those stupid **** short passes all season. Now teams have two and three guys waiting to hammer his *** every time. Tired of watching it. Don't throw it to him if he isn't open; he's a great young player, but he isn't ******* Superman.

The second sack of the last possession was amazing. I thought Bosa came free untouched. Turns out, he tossed Haeg aside so fast it only seemed that way.

The drive to go up 37-34 was pathetic. And I use the term drive, loosely. You have to try to eat clock there or have LAC use their TOs. The FG was basically a gimme for Boz and that's what they settled for anyway. That was terrible clock management and maybe they can't run the ball w/o Najee, but they you still hand the ball off twice to take time off the clock. Not that the Chargers needed much time to score, but you don't give them added time to march down the field 75 yards to win the game.

Other than that, they never quit. Made it exciting for 58 min. The refs suck missing Cam Sutton and Najee's headshots. Too inconsistant, like ususal.

They couldn’t run it with him either the Oline is so bad.

Damn shame we don’t have a FB to help…. Oh wait

A-N-D

Plays that don't telegraph the run play. How about an under-center QB ?

I would say both Cams on D played well...maybe we need to go get 9 more Cams

I think you mean that when we had 10 - 1st rounders on the "D" we were a #1 D but as that qaunity depleted so did our ranking.

We definately have some bright spots but no team can maintain a 10 - 1st rounder defense.

The refs were more likely than not told to turn the other cheek. How many head shots did the refs miss of STEELERS players giving chargers players headshots ?

then they should be called, too. Like I said, too inconsistant.
The one on Sutton was called. They just waited for the next play and called a roughing the passer penalty that Ben almost never gets called on similar plays.

I immediately said "makeup call" as soon as I saw the flag.

Canada needs to ******* go. As of halftime last night. Dude's offense completely ******* blows. It's almost like --- no, it IS like he doesn't scheme to for the defense we're facing. The last two defenses ranked at the very ******* bottom of the league against the run. So, of course, we throw the ball 44 times.

Oh, but they were planning on us running, so they stacked the box? So scheme to get that 7th or 8th man out of the box. And still run on them.

Inside the 5, we should NEVER EVER throw the ball 2 of 3 downs. Other teams in the league, in that situation, will try to run it in. Odd how we used the ******* jet sweep twice and didnt score. Yet we go jumbo, bring in a FB and Banner and go right up the ******* middle for an easy TD.

Canadian offense ******* sucks.

On "defense" - if not for the Cams, we'd have never been back in the game. The old guy is playing his *** off and the new guys need to be massaging the man's balls after the game. Of course, we need to have Buggs on the field more at NT and put Wormley over at End until/if Tuitt comes back. Buggs played well, IMO, when he was on the field. Sutton stepped up his game, IMO, but isn't a lock-down CB.

Anyone seen Devin Bush? The LB we traded up for? Dud is missing in action. Yes, DUD. BUST. Watched Ekeler run right by him on one TD, then personally escorted him for the second. I'd rather have Spillane in.

I'm willing to give Bush through this season and a little into next before throwing the bust or dud label on him. Let him get completely over the injured knee. He was looking so promising before he got injured. He didn't suddenly get stupid and indecisive and lose his confidence in his tackling. I'm guessing he still doesn't trust the knee.

8 plays from the 3 or less, we pass 7 times and come away with zero points.

in a Canadian Offense, passing TDs are worth 5 times a running TD.

The last two defenses ranked at the very ******* bottom of the league against the run.
Literally. #31 and #32 respectively.
Yesterday they at least PRETENDED to want to be balanced, at least through midway in the game. Vs the Lions, they utterly abandoned the run.

Against the 2nd worst run defense in the NFL.

With a backup who got word he'd be playing the night before.

In a monsoon.

I really didn't expect them to win, especially with so many starters out, but honestly would it have made any difference at all if the D just fielded 10 players and left Bush on the bench?
