Haley wasn't hired from within
Great leaders hire people that are BETTER than they are. Does anyone see Tomlin doing that?
Exactly, and Haley wasn't hired by Tomlin. Tomlin didn't know that The Bruce had retired and Todd Haley was the new OC until he read it in the paper. The Bruce didn't know he had retired either.

That's exactly right. Somebody who is comfortable in their own abilities will always look to hire the best. They welcome dissenting opinions. A weak leader wants yes men. They don;t want anybody who could possibly be seen as having a better idea than them because they are insecure.

If you wanted to look at college ranks

Josh Gattis OC Michigan - he was an assistant at PSU then left for Bama and then got the Michigan job. This year Harbaugh gave Gattis more control and the offense improved from Harbaugh's dust caveman offense where he has Andrew Luck and runs the ball 40 times per game.

Kendal Briles - OC Arkansas. His dad Art Briles built up Baylor until that whole covering up multiple crimes thing got him fired.

Mike Yurcich - OC Penn State. He was Rudoph's OC at Oklahoma State. If they are going with Rudolph then Yurcich would make sense.

It's been almost 24 hours and crickets, guess that means the current staff meets the standard.
Never a losing season. The standard has been met.

Have you watched PSU offense this year? He would be such a terrible hire

Sad as this may be that very well could be their thought process. Their bad decision making caused the handcuffs. But Mr. Rooney despite our handcuffs we still had a winning season!

Even if they make a change, it won't happen until after the end of season interviews and after Rooney sits down with Tomlin. Tomlin isn't firing anyone unless he's told to. We might hear something next week.

Ike Hilliard can’t get the WR to play worth a ****, why would you want to promote him?
I wasn’t thrilled with Hilliard as a WR coach. He was a good receiver. I think Cotchery would’ve been a better one. The Cotch was a really good route runner and good all purpose receiver.

I think Danny Smith is due for a promotion.

Wouldn't that be the pudding out of the box.! Game plans are irrelevant unless there is bubble gum involved.

Don't waste your time - Canada will be back. Nothing changes.
Yes. Best man for the job if the right QB is brought in. I can see MT firing him the though as the sacrificial lamb.

Tomlin basically just said that Matt Canada is coming back as OC next year. Totally ******* clueless.
