I hate the Browns and love making fun of them like everyone else, but it's pretty sad that they've won a playoff game in Pittsburgh more recently than we have. :(
The local media, well the ones that show up the presser's, will never blame Tomlin. I find it very hard to believe they were going to let the guy who was on the way out the door (Colbert) make that pick, and not the Head Coach who was going to be hand-cuffed to that QB. I think that was...
He didn't bench him, Pickett was hurt and Mason played so well there's no way he could put him back in, especially after the way all the players rallied around Mason. Tomlin left Pickett at #1 on the depth chart, and went out of his way after the season to talk him up. He barely said anything...
I can't see Jefferson playing without having an extension, he's going to be the highest paid WR ever, I don't see him risking injury and playing without that extension.
The Jags inquired about him, and the 49ers wanted the Jags #17 overall and a WR in return. No way in hell I'm giving up #20 and a player for him. He's very good, but he's in an offense, that alot here seem to think would make Pickett some how look good, and his best year is 78 catches and 8...
AR2 was far more critical of Pickett than Tomlin was, hell I'm not sure I heard Tomlin say anything negative about Kenny. AR2 said he has to process faster, have more pocket presence, etc. He also never said that the 2024 starting QB was on the roster like Tomlin did.
Fact is Kenny was...
This is AR2 finally having enough bullshit, Tomlin fully endorsed Pickett after the season, said the 2024 starting QB is on the roster. Tomlin is a master word-smith, if he though Pickett wasn't going to be here, he'd have talked his way around that question, just like he did when asked why...
It probably did, but he's a damn baby, can't take the competition so he took his ball and went home, you don't want a QB that has that childish attitude.
He missed a ton of open WR's and had zero pocket presence. And he has an ego for some reason, like he shouldn't have to earn anything and a **** attitude for a guy that has accomplished zero in the NFL.
Pickett sucked, I asked in another post, and I'll ask here, name one thing he ever did that made him look like a potential franchise QB? A legit franchise QB is going to do some things that are special no matter who the OC is, no matter what the Oline does, so stop with those excuses for him...
Yeah, no one said it wasn't. So you're going to draft a QB at #20 overall and just expect him to be a game manager? No GM/Coach thinks that, they drafted Pickett to be the next franchise QB, and he's not that, not even close.
What has anyone seen in Pickett to think he can be a legit #1??? Anyone??? Anything???
And whoever said the fact they brought Wilson in doesn't mean they don't have confidence in Pickett, that's exactly what it means. Pickett was our 1st round pick for the love of god, if they had confidence...
I'm not saying he's elite, I'm not saying any draft person said he was elite, but you don't take a QB at #20 overall to be a game manager, Tomlin/Steelers thought he was going to be "The Guy" or they wouldn't have taken him. That's why they brought Wilson in, they realized Pickett is nothing...
Then why draft him in the 1st round??? You don't waste a 1st round pick on a QB if you're only expecting him to be a game manager. It may not be fair to him, but that comes with the job.
So just top 5 picks are suppose to be elite? I don't think he was ever going to be elite, but the Steelers/Tomlin must've, you don't take a QB in the first round in the hopes that they can just manage a game.
