    Questions for the Draft

Herbig is at the very least a better run blocker. At least as good pass blocker. Snapping is probably the $64,000 question but can he be worse than Cole? I guess it’s possible. It’s a hole but not glaring. I would say RT is a much bigger hole. You can kick a tackle inside to guard or center and...

    Draft Targets by round

Rep 1(11 sec)- Sweat- Loss Rep 2(1:02)- Sweat- Win Rep 3(2:20)- Sweat- I guess you are saying this is a loss. Sweat gets on Limmer with power initially but Limmer resets so I would say this is a neutral play. If this is a win for Sweat then he won every rep vs everyone else besides Limmer. 3:30...

    FordFairLane 2024 Big Board

To a lesser extent but still relevant in 2006 the Steelers traded up to 25 from 32 to take Santonio Holmes. I don't think we make it to or win Super Bowl XLIII without him. So trading up can be great if you hit. I do wish we would trade back more than we do when the board doesn't fall our way. I...

    FordFairLane 2024 Big Board

Yep. If you trade up for a guy like Troy you come out smelling like roses. If you miss like they did with Bush it might have been the difference in competing the last few years. I just look at the draft is all about the numbers. The more picks and the earlier the picks the more likely you are to...

Ok, would you be ok with this draft? 20- Nate Wiggins CB 51- Kiran Amegadjie OT 84-Maason Smith DL 98- Beaux Limmer OC 119- Johnny Wilson WR 178- Marist Liufua ILB 195- Javon Solomon Edge Or 20- Brian Thomas Jr WR 51- Kiran Amegadjie OT 84- Maason Smith DL 98- Cam Hart CB 119- Mason McCormick...

    Draft Targets by round

I think Green just had a lot going against him. Change of position then forced to start. If they would of had a Nate Herbig to maybe bridge that gap he might have not of been a bust. We reached on him then threw him to the wolves. Just a horrible decision. If we drafted a Tanor Bortolini in the...

    Draft Targets by round

If Jackson Powers-Johnson was there in the second or Frazier there in the third, yes jump on it. I’m using where others are ranking them, our draft pick and my draft board. This is just looking to optimize value. There’s good centers in Limmer, Bortolini, and McCormick the Steelers can draft in...

    Draft Targets by round

One play. Besides the first 1-on-1 battle, which Limmer was definitely taken off guard by Sweats power, Limmer either redirected Sweat or stood him up after that. Sweat also was the best interior defender at the senior bowl and outplayed Briske who was having great practices. Limmer was the only...

    Draft Targets by round

If the board falls a certain way with the top RT’s, CB’s, and WR’s gone and Jackson Poers-Johnson or Graham Barton are the best available then by all means draft them. But if there’s better value at a harder position to fill then I would go that route.

    Draft Targets by round

Using drafttek’s big board as a baseline for other teams and mine for the Steelers I am going to give some targeted prospects at each round. #20- Amarius Mins OT Nate Wiggins CB Brian Thomas Jr WR #51- Ruke Orhorhoro DL Khyree Jackson CB Kiran Amegadjie OT Malachi Corley WR #84- Maason Smith...

    Questions for the Draft

Do you think Herbig is a big drop off from Mason Cole? Personally, I don’t. Could definitely use an upgrade but it’s not like Herbig is a liability either.

    Questions for the Draft

I can see and agree with this logic. People forget reports had Trice looking better than Porter in camp. He’s still relatively an unknown commodity but the coaching staff might feel comfortable with him to compete for a spot. And Jackson is a nice insurance policy if Trice can’t take the...

    Questions for the Draft

I would guess if Meyer didn’t fit in what Arthur Smiths system he’d be gone. I think we have guys who can play zone. Might need better athleticism at LG and Center. But I think they can play zone if that’s what Smith wants. I don’t think Dan Moore is in the long term plans. Jones is the future...

    FordFairLane 2024 Big Board

Just an FYI I just dropped Sweat to the 4th round due to pending DUI issues. He might be a good day 3 target now. Sweat’s fall could be huge. I list him as a 4th round value buuuut I probably target him with one of our 6th round picks.

Only Fields Contract that makes sense to me

The only contract that makes sense to me is a Jordan Love type deal. 13.5m guaranteed for 2025 with 10m in performance based bonuses on playing time and statistical mile markers. And that’s only if the team has decided to rent Wilson for a year. I might see how the season goes and do a mid...

    FordFairLane 2024 Big Board

I personally don't like to trade up because I feel if you do you have to be right. We missed on Bush and it hurt the team big. Especially since the Pakers trades up to 21 that year and gave up a ton to do so. Could have really stocked the shelves. But if I were I would say I would probably...

    FordFairLane 2024 Big Board

He likely is. I am just not as high as most on him. I think he ends up being a Chris Cooley type player and I don't mean anything disrespectful about that. Cooley had a very solid NFL career and was a 700-900 yard type of player. But he was an H-Back and not a true TE. I look at Theo Johnson and...

    FordFairLane 2024 Big Board

Maybe. I am very high on Johnson and would put him ahead of Freiermuth if they were in the same draft class. Johnson is an A+ blocker and has soft reliable hands. Not the route runner Freiermuth was but physically more gifted. Freiermuth had the higher floor but Johnson has a much higher ceiling.

    FordFairLane 2024 Big Board

Most of my board aligns with what I would do if lets say I had a top 250 prospects. The one area you might have noticed is defensive line. Playing the 3-4 I drop 4-3 only DT’s, I elevate 3-4 DE’s (5-tech) and elevate true nose tackles who are more than block eaters. Sweat is probably a good...
