PAID ?

As hillarious as it may seem the Browns at one time considered making him the highest paid QB in the NFL.

Now they are condifering around the $30 mil mark.

He has been known for injury but also to play through them as well.

Would you sign him for $30+ mil to be your face of the franchise ?

The guaranteed money is really the only thing that matters.
Whatever extension he signs, I'll make a guess that he doesn't last the length of it cause he won't be worth the price

$30+ million seems high for Baker. I could see closer to $25 million per. ****, the Steelers may be giving Rudolph $15 or $20 million per in a year if he is going to be their starting QB gamble.

Top QBs are reaching $40 million per year so putting Baker at $30 million a year is about the market for that type of QB. He's a guy who you can win with as long as the team has the necessary pieces around him. Unless the Browns could get Rodgers or Wilson, they really don't have much of a choice or else they'd be starting off from scratch with a rookie or a veteran at the same level or worse than Baker.

Heck no 20 million is about what he's worth and that's being generous.

Think the reverse as the more they pay him the less they have for team mates of caliber.

Funny thing is that is Joe Flacco money from 10 years ago...

Franchises make $40M now. Anything less by the Browns is a low ball and they're looking to move on from Baker.

Baker is in an interesting spot because he's not elite so he won't surpass Mahoomes and Allen, but instead he's in with guys like Carr, Stafford, Tannehill, Ryan, Wentz, Cousins, and Goff. The low end of that group is at $25 million per year and the high end at $33.5 million. Since he's the next one in this tier to get a contract, he should be around $34-35 million per year on the low end of a new deal. Lamar Jackson's will be interesting. He won't get the length, but his dollar figure should be at or even surprass Mahomes' $45 million per year.

You've got to look at it from the Franchise perspective too. Mayfield gave the Browns a WINNING SEASON, something they haven't seen in what... a decade or more? He also beat the Steelers in a playoff game.

I could totally see the franchise giving him a pretty decent short-term deal based on THAT alone. If he ends up walking, they're right back to adding to their never-ending list of starting QBs. My bet is that they'll give him a short, but respectable contract.

He already got broken, last season. He's already back and playing quite well. Sucks, but the bengals have a legitimate franchise qb who will be a thorn in Pittsburgh's side for quite some time to come

It's been said,...... so let it be done

Baker dozen deserves a $45mil/year for 12 years.

cleveland / cinci / balt are all operating on QB rookie contracts, their team will change when the big money is paid. Pittsburgh has done a very good job with takent and pay, I'd venture to say that none of those three teams will be able to do the balancing act that the STEELERS have been doing for a long time.

Art 2 isn't near the football MAN his dad was so we will have to see how they move forward under his guise as of FO personal from dad's time will be leaving soon as well as Colbert & Possibly Tomlin.
