.@Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger reported to have significant MCL. Out minimum two weeks. Rarely MCL's do require surgery.

David J. Chao, MD ‏@ProFootballDoc · 43m43 minutes ago
BEN ROETHLISBERGER @steelers
Best case: significant MCL, out 2 wks minimum (likely)
Worst case: plateau or dreaded 3 letters begin with A.

Yeah it looked like his MCL gave way quite a bit. If that's all it is, then he's out for a few weeks.

I'd be much relieved if that's the case. We still have a chance to do something this season. If it's ACL, this season is over IMO.

Get your pro bowl RB back and your Pro Bowl QB goes out...

2 weeks on a significant MCL? Seems very optimistic to me. I'd think more like 4 to 6 minimum.

Honestly, I will take 2-3 weeks for him to recover. Really looked bad. Just hoping he is not gone for the year.

I'm surprised he hasn't gotten an MRI yet.

Hate that these online twitter doctors are claiming its an MCL. No one will know till they release the MRI results.

Barron was the guy who knocked Palmer out last year on a similar hit... penalizing these guys keeps them from continually trying to go low, but you know, Ben deserves no protection since he is big and not brady

Ravens 0-3. Going to be tough to win Thursday without Ben.

So, who do we bring in for 2-3 weeks? Vick is one hit from going down and giving the ball to YOU KNOW WHO!

Dr. Chao was a former team doctor with the Chargers, but now watches games and predicts the injuries based on what he sees when the injury occurs as well as the the types of tests that the trainers perform. He's a good follow on Twitter.

Well you might as well have him get the hit. It would be pretty pointless to put in LAndry Jones to protect your backup QB wouldn't it.

Who is saying it is a significant MCL?

I know a penalty wouldn't bring back Ben, but clearly that would have been a penalty, and possibly a suspension if it was Tommy Terrific. I know he stumbled but he extended himself into the knee.
