Yeah was watching highlights of Ingram and he has an array of pass rush moves. And looks like he has good functional strength. This will only be a good thing for Highsmith.

Good signing. The Steelers certainly needed depth at the position. I have no doubt that if Ingram stays healthy, then he will be able to outperform Highsmith.

Melvin Ingram's 1 year deal with Steelers is worth $4M per reports. Not sure that is backup money.
This isn't 2000. 4 mill seems about right.

May just be a practice jersery, but looks like as of now, #8 Berm. Oh, and TJ pretty impressed already:

def wearing #8, and sounds excited to be here according to his ESPN blurb.

4 million is backup/rotational money in a 200 million cap era. We paid Chickillo 3 million in 2019 for example

I was originally thinking backup money , have to get with the times! But not so sure the Steelers will entirely use him as a backup...in that capacity.
I would presume his sack rush capability would bring a nice rotational mix and then perhaps he will be thrust into a 3 LBer look. Giving a Dline player some rest. Gives that D more pass rushing capability to mask perhaps some of those secondary issues / growing pains.
